$100 Spree

So, the other day my husband came to me and said he had been given $100 bonus at work and that he wanted to give it to me (I know - he's great, right?)!  Of course, I wanted to get the most I could for that money.  Before I even went shopping, I took a look at my closet and decided the items I needed most were dresses & more modern shoes.

I wanted to share with you what is possible when you take your time & shop the clearance racks - here are the things I bought with my $100...

Banana Republic Silk Racerback Dress - retail $115, bought for $12
I love the lightweight feel & simple styling of this dress - I'll add a leather belt at the waist for a bit of interest.

Nina Embler Peep Toe Booties - retail $80, bought for $19
These are sleek, flattering & a bit dressier than my other booties (seen here), giving me a more modern option than my classic black pumps.

Banana Republic Knotted Strap Dress - retail $150, bought for $35
Believe it or not, before this purchase, I didn't own anything in pink!  The shoulder knot detail gives it a romantic, Greek-goddess feel.

SE Boutique Oscar Pump - retail $80, bought for $30
Even though my husband doesn't like them, I think they are fabulous.  Extremely edgy and perfect with skinny jeans and a blazer!
So, if you are better at math than me and you've been adding, you'll notice that I didn't even use all of my $100!  I had just enough left over for a coffee at Starbucks.  Talk about a perfect day - shopping success & a little caffeine! :)

Hi there! I just ran into your blog as I was looking for information on the sizing of the BR knotted strap dress in rose that you bought (in 2011!). I am looking at it in EBay. If you happen to see this, can you tell me if it runs true to size? I can only find one size larger than I normally are and would like some more info to see if I take the risk or not. Thanks!

Hi - yes, I would say the dress runs true to size or maybe even a little big. I bought the size 4 and it was a little roomy on me, so I would recommend either buying your usual size or one size down. Hope that helps! :)

You are so nice! Thank you so much for this information; it is really helpful :) Bottomline is, the dress available in Ebay will be too big for me then :( Hope I can find it some other day there. Thank you!!!
