A Short Story

I have never been a big fan of shorts.  I would rather wear a skirt any day, if given the option.  While I do have a few pairs, I pretty much never go looking for more to buy.  But, when I saw these on the sale rack, I was instantly drawn to them...probably due to their vintage-inspired shape & feminine detailing.  Because they are dressier than my other styles & the color is a rich neutral, they'll transition nicely into the fall when paired with tights and booties.

{These pictures were shot at the historical George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography & Film.  George Eastman (who built this estate in 1902) was the founder of Eastman Kodak Company ~ he is heralded as the father of modern photography & the inventor of motion picture film.}

What I'm wearing:
Gap blouse, Anthropologie shorts (here), BCBG sandals, Target belt, Forever 21 & Banana Republic bracelets, Kenneth Cole ring (Nails: Sally Hansen Wet Cement)

Love those shorts! I don't wear 'em either, but I like the way they look on everybody else.

The shorts look fabulous on you, I can definitely see them for fall as well. Loving the belt too, just picked it up from target!

I love EVERYTHING about this outfit! The accessories,the blouse and the shorts - to the polish. Wow. My favorite of yours so far! It reminds me of Australia in a glamorous safari way. (If there is such a thing.) So classy.

I'm with you about not wearing shorts. But these are SO CHIC! This look (shorts, blouse, belt and even your hair!) reminds me of something you might see on an African safari around the time of Amelia Earhart! You have inspired me to give shorts (longer, flowy-er ones) another try!

I'm the exact opposite-I will soooo buy a pair of shorts before I buy a skirt. I love these shorts too. They are so classy and chic!

You look fantastic! You have the perfect pair of shorts here - I think high waisted styles are very classic and chic. Love the belt over the shorts too.

At first glance, I totally thought those were a pencil skirt!

Your styling is so wonderful, very elegant and the shorts are just adorable.

It took me a long time to warm up to shorts, but I'm finally embracing them myself.

Chic on the Cheap

This outfit is gorgeous :) I am similar to you in that I opt for skirts over shorts every time (although I am guilty of mini denim shorts in summer) ... I know we're focused on the shorts but I have to say I also adore the nail colour you're wearing. Tops the outfit off perfectly!
