Mixed Signals

For this edition of Everybody Everywear, we were asked to mix prints.  I was thrilled about the idea...that is, until I looked in my closet.  While I do have an abundance of stripes, I realized that patterned pieces were few and far between.  This is just one of the many reasons why I'm glad I take part in these challenges - because it forces me to look at my wardrobe in a different way and helps me identify where there may be voids to fill.  Admittedly, this outfit is one of the "safest" ways to mix prints, but it's a step in the right direction.

As you will notice in these pictures, my hair style changed as the photo shoot continued - thanks to a hefty gust of wind & lack of bobby pins, my "undone bun" became a ponytail. (just keeping it real...)

What I'm wearing:
H&M top, Kohl's jacket, Old Navy jeans, New York & Company scarf, MRKT wedges, Michael Kors watch, Target belt & bag, Dockers aviators, Bracelets: Forever 21, Fossil, Vintage (Nails: OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle)

I really like that striped top. I have seen quite a few people pair stripes with animal print lately. It must be the new thing, and you are on board :) Overall a very cute outfit.

Hi! I participated in the EBEW challenge too! Love the print mixing! Cute && laid back!

FOund your blog off of EBEW. Following now!

Well done! You look great! I love the mixed print trend, but I don't have a lot of prints that I can mix! Guess i'm not much of a print-buying person! Let's go shopping then! Haha

So cute! And I actually really LOVE the ponytail.

But you can pull off anything!

That may be the "safest" way to mix patterns but you pulled it off with out a hitch! These challenges are pretty amazing to help re-think and re-boost outfit thinking.
Cheers,
Bre

I love this entire look...understated elegance...chic..trendy..it works! Great job!

I love that bag!

Such an adorable casual look! I'll be trying this out once the summer heat takes a break! And I completely feel your pain with those (sometimes) annoying bobbie pins!

i suppose it is a "safe" way, but it still looks great, i kind of wish i thought of it! im a sucker for animal print (or any print) scarves, its so classic :)
