Infusing Brights

As much as I say I won't, I always tend to gravitate towards black, grey, brown or camel for the fall & winter months.  But this was, without a doubt, the year for bold colors in fashion...and I am determined to make a change by infusing brights into my cold-weather wardrobe.  Here's a few ways I plan on doing it (these outfits are to serve as inspiration, so I've not included shopping information):

Color-blocking
You can use this principle with any combination of colors - try choosing jewel tones or deeply saturated hues (like this berry & merlot) for a luxe, sophisticated look.

Mismatched Accessories
Remember the old saying, "match your bag to your shoes"?  Nothing could date you faster than adhering to this rule - so add pops of color to an otherwise neutral outfit with differing bold shades (my favorite combination = mustard + pine).

Colored Pants
These were everywhere for spring & summer and there is no end in sight.  Think about purchasing richer hues for this season in a thicker twill or slim-fitting corduroy.
