Layered Pleats

At first glance, this appears to be a colorblocked maxi dress, but look a little closer and you'll see it's actually a pleated maxi skirt layered under a dress!  I love mixing pieces together like this in different ways - not only is it fun to come up with unexpected combinations, but it also further expands your wardrobe.

What I'm wearing:
Trouve dress (similar splurge or save), Old Navy skirt (last seen here - similar here), Merona belt, BCBG pumps, Ann Taylor cuff (similar), ASOS clutch (similar), Lips: Cover Girl Temptress

Great colours together! I like how you find endless possibilities within what you have, and pleated styles that are usually quite heavy are surprisingly not too too voluminous here. lovely!
