Lucky FABB ~ Part 2

Continuing on with my recap from Lucky FABB West, this post will be all about the day of the conference & focusing on the incredible panel of speakers they had lined up for us...

As you can see from this photo, it was unusually gray & cool weather in Santa Monica

Perfect start to an amazing day ~ the always-stunning Brandon Holley (Editor for Lucky Magazine) interviewed Zac Posen

Gorgeous Jessica Alba talked about building her brand, The Honest Co. (if you were watching the live stream, you saw her answer my question!)

The incomparable Janie Bryant & talented Kiernan Shipka discussed Mad Men fashion

Jeff Rudes (CEO & Founder of J Brand Jeans) talked with Brandon Holley about their success story & how important it is to think small, even when you grow big

Elizabeth Banks provided some much-needed afternoon comic relief & looked amazing in her sparkling Matthew Williamson dress

Jeannie Mai (who shared her inspirational story of how she got her big break by not giving up) & Hillary Kerr from Who What Wear

Randi Zuckerberg (former Director of Marketing Development for Facebook) made us all laugh, but also shared great insights & good business tips - my favorite quote of hers: "Kindness and friendliness goes a long way."

Part 3 is coming later this week, including pictures of what I wore, the suites they had for us to enjoy during breaks & the cocktail party!  Plus, I'll be doing a giveaway next week of some gift bag items from the conference!!

I bet that was such an inspiring conference! I would love to do a conference. My husband writes for a Catholic blog that has only been around for about 4 months. It has been featured in numerous publications and already has over 100,000 hits. SO inspiring!

I missed the live stream! What was your question?!!

Kimberly said...

Hi Syl, I asked her about balancing a growing business with the duties of motherhood - since she & I both have 2 kids, I was interested in hearing her insights. Unfortunately, I think I just made her feel bad...because she said that she feels like she is always compromising something and that it is hard (which is the truth!).

amazing! what question did you ask Jessica??

Janie and Jessica - my day would have been made, no my year!!
thanks for sharing

Looks like this was such a fantastic event! Like I said yesterday, been "shopping" your blog! I'm trying to duplicate your outfit from Feb 14...ordered the red blazer and white pants...looking like crazy for a similiar shell, Miss Selfridge is sold out. Any other similiar suggestions? Many thanks!!!

Hi Renee, you could check ASOS for a coral shell like mine or maybe even Forever 21? Let me know if you still come up empty-handed and I can do some searching for you! :)

Thanks for your suggestions...no luck but what do you think of this...even though it's a v-neck would it be okay with the red blazer you suggested from F21...picking it up from being pressed out today! Thanks!http://www.thelimited.com/detail/pleated-v-neck-shell/5036521

Hi Renee, I think that top would work well...my only concern with shirts that have banded hems like that is they can sometimes look too blousy through the waist and aren't always the most flattering. You could order it & see if it works?

rdelayo said...

Hi! I took your advice to give that Limited coral top a try and see how it goes. I just came across this one as well. What do you think to pair with the red jacket. Promise this is the last and moving on to the next outfit ;)http://shopruche.com/starry-eyed-sheer-blouse-in-coral.html

Hi again Renee, I think I like that one better than the other - plus I think you could get more use out of it. Feel free to email me with any further outfit/product questions (pennypincherfashion@gmail.com) - I'm happy to help in any way I can! :)

Thank you! I value your opinion, you have great style sense. I will send a photo of the duplicated outfit to you at that address ;) Have a great day!
