Buttoned Up

This trend has been around for a while now and it was one that took me a little time to warm up to.  But, I think it is a fun way to change up the look of a simple button-down blouse and the effect is very modern & chic...especially when you have a statement necklace (or two!) peeking out from under the collar.  What are your thoughts on this style & have you tried it yet?

What I'm wearing:
Moda International blouse (this season's colors here), H&M pants (last seen here; similar on sale here), Forever 21 tote (here), Mossimo pumps (on sale here), H&M necklace, Michael Kors watch, Forever 21 bracelet (here), Target sunnies, Lips: L'Oreal Colour Riche Volcanic, Nails: Orly Lemonade

I love this color combo! I want to try it but need to find the perfect color top since I don't have one yet!

I remember this look from the 80s and I always liked it then and still do. I can't fathom buttoning up right now with the heat, but I plan to do it when the weather cools down.

I love this look and have been meaning to try it. I'm usually not a fan of button down sleeveles shirts, but I am really loving them in all combinations this season.
I especially love the colour combo in your post. You look great!

I haven't tried the all button up trend yet. I love it on other people, but I feel like I look so silly.

Loving your red blouse though, gorgeous!

Love the H&M necklace PPF! Is it recent?

SO pretty!! I'm the same... I actually did this last week but with my bubble necklace so it was more of an open look. WOrking my way toward this. :)

PS: meant to reply yesterdya. LOVE your wish list. Those Me Too flats have been on my list for ages. Hope they go on sale during Nordstrom anniv sale.

Hey Gina, I found the necklace a couple of months ago...but you could check your local store & you might get lucky! :)

So pretty! Love the pants and that tote! Can't believe it is from Forever 21!

Your top and necklace are gorgeous :)

I think it works well with a sleeveless shirt like you're doing here. OR a long sleeve with a skirt. Either way, the key is to show a little skin (either arms or legs) so you don't look too much like a nun (not that there's anything wrong with nuns, but you know what I mean).

Georgeous colors on you!! I have tried this trend on a few occasions and I think the statement necklace makes all the difference in it looking old fashioned or current! XO

I really love the color blocking and I'm a fan of the buttoned-up shirt with statement necklace look! I have yet to try it though.

Very chic. Love the buttoned up look, very polished. You look great in those pants and am dying over your pumps :)

I love this look on you. Buttoning up the whole way really does change the look of the shirt. I've never done this because I always feel like the shirt is strangling me...same reason I hate turtle necks. Love the statement necklaces and that bag is gorgeous!

I have a printed blouse in a similar style, I love it! The statement necklace is a great idea to keep it looking fresh.

Stunning color on you! Love the color combo!

Cute look but I could not do it...I can't stand things too tight around my neck. I always think I am being strangled. :)

Great outfit!
