Manicure of the Month

Since August is technically the last summer month (even though it's still quite warm here in NY)...I can't help but start thinking about the transition into fall.  So, I decided to share with you an ombr
√© manicure that will work for both this season and the next, thanks to the combination of light and dark hues.  Obviously, you can use this same method with any series of shades you already own - I did one in early spring using pale to hot pinks and my blogging bff also featured a fun orange version here.  Another thing I love about this is that it's so easy to do (no special nail art skills required!), but it has such a pretty & subtly eye-catching effect.

Products I used:
(lightest to darkest)

So many shades of purple!
This looks fantastic. I want to do it, but I only own one of each colour (stretching it even then) :P

This is one I haven't tried yet but I'm going to have to add it to my list! I always tend to get too creative & my nails end up looking like a failed 5th grade art project.

I absolutely love this! I typically choose similar shades of the same color when I do manicures like this because it seems less flashy in an office setting, yet it still makes me smile to see it on my nails as I type. :) Great post!

I've wanted to try an ombre nail for a while now- I have so many reds/pinks so I may try that. Love your purple one!

Cute! I love my brights but have started getting excited about wearing darker colors again. I at least toned mine down this week with a soft pastel.

What a beautiful tonal effect!

I love the ombre - I think it's the next manicure I'm going to do. I've also read you can make your own colors just by mixing the darkest color with white for the shades!
