Since I recently had great luck scoring a real leather pencil skirt at the thrift store for next to nothing, I decided to hunt for a suede version. Thankfully, I found this vintage style on eBay for less than $30 and in my size! I love the 70's vibe that it has, plus the color is perfect for fall - I can't wait to pair it with a chunky knit & tights when the weather gets cooler. For now, though, I decided to keep the retro theme going with a plaid scarf & fold-over clutch, but modernized it with this structured-shoulder top & my favorite peep-toe booties.

Lisa: the skirt is actually not that heavy - while it does have more structure to it (and no stretch, since it's suede), it is still comfortable to wear and easy to move around in.
