Day to Night: LWD

I could easily argue that a little white dress is a summer staple and yet my closet was lacking that perfect style that could be dressed up or down.  Then I was introduced to Tailor and Stylist and I came across this gem.  The lightweight fabric is ideal for summer and I love the mix of hard and soft (feminine pleats + faux leather straps).  I decided to share two different ways to wear my new favorite LWD to show how to seamlessly transition this piece from day to evening!  If you're having a hard time finding that just-right style, you can always rent a designer dress.

What I'm wearing:
c/o Tailor & Stylist dress (here), Rubbish jacket (similar here, here or here), Mango booties (similar here or here) & bag (similar), Gorjana necklace c/o Lilac Bijoux (here), c/o Stella & Dot ring (here), Bracelets: Vintage & Forever 21 (here), Simply Vera Vera Wang aviators (similar), Lips: L'Oreal Colour Riche Fairest Nude

What I'm wearing:
c/o Tailor & Stylist dress (here), Guess heels c/o TJ Maxx (similar here or here), Zara clutch (similar), Forever 21 necklace (similar), Target cuff (similar), Eyes: Almay Intense I-Color Eyeshadow

LOVE how you styled this dress both ways! I had my eye on it but was worried it would be too short on me. Now I'm kicking myself. SUPER cute. Also, your skin makes me want to never EVER go in the sun again. =)

I'm loving both of these looks, but my favorite is the nighttime look because it showcases the beautiful leather details of the dress. It's such a beautiful piece of clothing, kind of reminds me of a Greek Goddess dress :)

Love the harness at the back!

@emorris4, I am 5'8" and it's a little shorter of a length than I normally wear, but because it is flowy & loose, it works :)

The leather straps are amazing! I love that they are brown leather and not black as I think black would makes it look a bit too bondage.

Both ways of styling are so cute but I'm particularly drawn to the 'evening' style.

Just discovered your blog recently from Glitter Guide and love your fresh and affordable approach! Agree with all the above comments- dress is divine and I, too, ordered it immediately. Question- did you just rotate the belt around backwards? It looks skinnier than the online catalog pics so just curious if you replaced it? :)
Thanks!

Everything about these outfits are PERFECT. I've been looking fir a cargo jacket and ankle booties for a while now and I'm obsessed with little white dresses!

Hi Hillary,

Thank you so much - I'm happy to have you as a new reader! Yes, I rotated the belt around and tied it in the back instead of the side or front (which you could also do). Hope you enjoy your new dress!

Kimberly
