Barely Blush

The weather has been teasing us lately - one day it's sunny & the snow starts to melt and the next morning we wake up to a total whiteout.  So I've learned to take full advantage of the warm(ish) days and dress like spring is here...even if it isn't.  Obviously, this outfit is not practical for hanging out at home with my kids, but it was the perfect choice for a Sunday afternoon girls get-together (would also be perfect for a wedding/baby shower and I may or may not be wearing it again on Easter).

What I'm wearing:
c/o SheInside blazer (here or in navy here), Darling top (on sale here), Gap trousers (similar here or here), BCBGeneration heels (similar here or here), Zara clutch (via eBay; similar here or here), Mango necklace (here), Mudd sunnies (similar)

There's only 2 days left in the Olivia + Joy Blogger Styling Challenge!  I would love to have your support - all you have to do is "like" my picture on Facebook here.  Thank you so much!!

Recent Purchases

Although I didn't intentionally set out to buy items in the same color family, when I took a look at my February purchases, it was apparent that my subconscious was having a momentary obsession with these oceanic shades.  And, I must admit, blues & greens are always among my favorites for spring/summer - because they feel so fresh & look good on virtually every skin-tone.

I'm seriously stalking this mint sequin skirt & just waiting for a good sale to snatch it up.  In addition to these items below, I also bought the coral satchel & wool coat from this outfit, the jacket & clutch seen here + this messenger bag & lilac blazer (note: almost all of these pieces were purchased using the $500 gift card I won from RetailMeNot).

1) J. Crew Necklace - $71.99  (bought during 40% off sale)// 2) Forever 21 Pumps - $29.80
3) Forever 21 Blouse - $19.80 // 4) Target Earrings - $12.99

Spring Polish

I recently partnered with Julep to feature one of my favorite spring polish colors on their blog.  I chose this fun pistachio green because it was so unique & different from other shades that I own...plus it pairs perfectly with pastels and brights alike, which are two of my obsessions for the coming season.  I'm also loving this neon peach + this pretty pale blue - and how cute is this ombre mani set (definitely on my wish list)!

Give Bracelets Giveaway ~ CLOSED

One of the most rewarding parts of this blog is getting the chance to help others.  I came across this
organization a few weeks ago and was so touched by the work they are doing that I couldn't wait to
share it with you.  Give Jewelry is a sustainable movement to provide food for children in orphanages
throughout Indonesia.  Every bracelet purchased directly benefits kids in need - for every 1 bracelet,
you are providing 1 week's worth of food (that's 21 meals!) for 1 child.

This garnet silver style is my favorite because it's such a pretty dainty bracelet - perfect for everyday
wear & would make a great gift (with Mother's Day coming up soon)!  They have dozens of other pieces, including friendship bracelets, leather styles + more - no matter what type you choose, by purchasing
one...you are choosing to make a difference.

I have partnered with Give Jewelry this week to giveaway a $75 gift card to their online store.  Our goal
is to use this giveaway as a chance to raise awareness of this organization & the important work they are
doing to fight world hunger.  We are including lots of options below for ways you can enter

4) Visit Give Jewelry & leave a comment below telling us what your favorite bracelet is from their site

While browsing through some new arrivals online today, I came across these crystal necklaces by MANGO and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the prices!  These look so similar to Lulu Frost & other more expensive designer styles, but they're all under $70!  If you're looking for a major statement piece for spring, these are gorgeous (& affordable) options:

1) Crystal Cluster Choker - $59.99 // 2) Chandelier Crystal Necklace - $39.99

Weekend Warrior

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of olive green skinnies for months.  And since I discovered these, I have been wearing them constantly.  Not only is the fit super-flattering, but they are so easy to pair with other neutrals (as I did here) or contrasting hues (think citron or pale peach).  This outfit in particular was ideal for a day of shopping & grabbing lunch with a girlfriend over the weekend - I firmly believe you can't go wrong with the classics!

What I'm wearing:
Gap turtleneck (similar), Forever 21 trench (similar here or here), c/o Old Navy jeans (on sale here), Nine West loafers (on sale here), Ray-Ban wayfarers (similar), Zara tote (here or similar for less here), c/o JewelIQ necklace (here), Michael Kors watch (similar), Lips: Maybelline ColorSensational Coral Crush

Neon Coral

This weekend I pulled all my spring & summer clothes out of storage & organized them back into my closet.  It was equal parts thrilling (discovering items I'd almost forgotten about) and frustrating (realizing I still can't wear many of them thanks to our never-ending winter).  But, when I came across this blouse & sweater, I realized they would be perfect paired together for a bright tone-on-tone look.  As a side note, I was downright giddy when I saw this coat on the clearance rack at my local store - apparently someone had ordered it online & returned...so it was heavily marked down + an extra 40% off = score!

What I'm wearing:
LOFT blouse (similar here or here), J. Crew sweater (this season's style on sale here), J. Crew coat (similar), c/o Old Navy jeans (on sale here), Old Navy shoes (similar here or here), J. Crew necklace (similar), Merona bag (here), Ray-Ban wayfarers (similar), Nails: c/o Julep Alicia & Essie California Coral, Lips: Revlon Moon Drops Hot Coral

Simplified Beauty

I always love to check out beauty products that are new-to-market, whether they involve a technological breakthrough or are just cleverly packaged tools I use on a regular basis.  So, today I'm sharing with you my latest favorite finds (I've purchased all except the Opal, which I plan on saving up for).  These products make my usual routine so much easier and, with the exception of the Clarisonic, they are incredibly affordable too!

Fresh Mint

As much as I love wearing bright colors & have been trying to embrace them more, I keep reverting back to neutrals.  This soft palette of creamy ivory, icy mint & warm nude is one of my favorite combinations because it works well in both winter & spring (though would probably look better if I had a slight tan).  I'm also finally breaking out of my makeup rut and have been trying some different smoky eye looks lately.  I've included below the product I used if you're interested in recreating for yourself & let me know in the comments if a tutorial would be helpful!

What I'm wearing:

Double Flare

I love layering different pieces together in an attempt to increase the cost per wear of my out-of-season clothes.  Sometimes the combinations don't always work, but this particular pairing (a peplum top over a sleeveless fit & flare dress) was a rather happy discovery.  I added a structured blazer + edgy heels to help to balance out the sweetness of the ruffles, which proved to be the perfect combination for an early Valentine's Day date with my husband.

What I'm wearing:
c/o Lavish Alice top (here), LOFT dress (worn as skirt; similar), H&M blazer (similar here or here), eBay belt (similar here or here), c/o J. Renee pumps (here), Zara clutch (similar), c/o JewelIQ earrings (similar), Target sunnies (similar)

20 Under $20

One of my girlfriends challenged me last week to see if I could come up with a "steals under $20" post.  Even though she was half-joking, I thought it was a fun idea and I knew I could find affordable options that fit the bill.  I've included a good mix of accessories, tops & makeup that are timeless & perfect for the coming season.  But the best part, by far, is the price!

Classic + Modern

One of my personal rules for trying out new trends is to mix them with classic pieces - because it creates a more effortless look & is a great way to ensure you don't go overboard.  This combination of a varsity-style jacket with basics like a crisp white shirt, denim & ladylike pumps is the perfect blend of modern & timeless (just swap out the heels for sneakers or brogues and you are weekend-ready!).

What I'm wearing:
Old Navy shirt (here), Forever 21 jacket (here), Levi's jeans (on sale here), Charles Jourdan pumps (on sale here; few sizes left on clearance here), ASOS clutch (here), c/o T&J Designs cuff (similar here or here), Lips: L'Oreal Colour Riche Fairest Nude
