Weekend Ready

I'm so thankful to my mom for instilling in me a love for thrift shopping.  I rarely watched cartoons as a little girl - I was obsessed with old musicals (Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers were my favorites).  Because of this, I loved playing dress up & recreating scenes from their movies.  So, on special weekends, my mom would take me thrifting & let me buy a vintage dress or two for my collection.  There's something exciting about walking into the store, not knowing what hidden treasures you might discover.  This striped button-down was a recent find and only cost $3.50!  Even though it's a more basic piece, I was thrilled to add it to my closet...especially after seeing all the oxford shirts that popped up on spring runways.  More ways I'll be styling it: with white denim & dressed up with a printed skirt.

P.S. To the reader who pulled her car over to say hello while we were shooting these pictures...I was thoroughly embarrassed, but you made my day with your sweet words.
Thank you for being so kind, Meaghan!
