Eyelet + Camo

I've found myself in a very reflective mood lately.  Maybe it's because of all that we've been dealing with over the last couple of months...but I've been trying to be more aware of & grateful for the little things around me.  Like the place where we live & the stage of life we are in right now.  Three years ago, when my husband announced that he had taken a job and we were moving to NY, I was devastated.  I couldn't envision transferring to yet another new place (we had moved from OR to NC just 3 years prior to that).  I always thought that our next move would be back home to Portland.  But, it's funny how time changes things.  Despite the health challenges we are facing, we are happier than we've ever been here - living near this village & taking family walks and bike rides along the canal.  I never thought that I would call anyplace "home" where my immediate family didn't live...but NY has truly stolen our hearts and now we can't imagine leaving.

Moral of the story: if you are facing a big change or a time of transition that you're feeling uneasy about, I would encourage you to remain hopeful...because it could be the beginning of something far greater than you've even dared to dream.
