Change Agent

Over the weekend, our temperatures dropped into the low 40's, which prompted me to begin pulling my wool coats out of storage & into my closet.  This menswear-style coat (last seen here) was one that I had previously loved, but it was honestly too tight through the shoulders.  But instead of purging it, I decided to see if my tailor could remove the sleeves, which would solve the fit issues & salvage the coat.  It was well worth the $10 I paid & I'm thrilled to now have a long wool vest that I can wear layered over my sweaters & dresses until it gets cold enough to require more hefty outerwear.  I have a feeling this will be even more versatile than the original version was!  I've included similar options below, but you could also do this with an old coat you already own or a thrift store find.

What I'm wearing:
LOFT chambray sweatshirt (also in tall & petite), c/o Sheinside coat (similar savespend, or splurge),
c/o American Eagle Outfitters jeans (on sale!), c/o JustFab Taya bootsForever 21 scarf (similar here or here),
Zara bag (similar here or here), J. Crew Factory sunglasses (similar), Bracelets: c/o BaubleBar
& Zara (similar here and here), Rings: c/o Prima Donna (similar) & Forever 21
