The Cold War

Winter is a notoriously difficult beauty season because the icy temperatures and harsh winds can wreak havoc on your skin & hair.  Even though we've only seen a little snowfall here in NY, I am already recognizing the need for an extra layer of moisturizer each morning and that my split ends are more noticeable after blow-drying.  I've been switching up the products I use lately and have discovered, through a bit of trial & error, that combining certain treatments together can have a powerful & effective impact.  I've been so impressed with these six options that I just had to share them with you today.  Take a look at my favorites here and read on below for my personal reviews to hear why I love them.

To combat dry strands, I've been using this spray-on treatment which leaves my hair unbelievably soft and restores shine.  Note: a little goes a long way, especially if you have naturally oily hair - just a light application is all you need!

Kérastase Carré Lissant Smoothing Sheets
This might be the greatest hair product invention of all time.  Just lightly smooth over your strands to eliminate frizz, control static & tame flyaways.  Great for traveling or stashing in your purse when you're on the go.

2) Purest Palm Body Brush
I was recently introduced to dry brushing for its health benefits (see how-to instructions here) & since making this a part of my daily ritual, I've seen a marked improvement in the overall condition of my skin.

Boots Botanics Nourishing Body Oil
During the winter months, I usually need to step up to a more intensive body lotion to help give my skin the moisture it's craving.  This oil formula instantly soothes my parched skin and leaves it feeling silky all day long.

3) John Masters Organics Moroccan Clay Mask
I love a good mask for pulling out impurities & giving my skin a healthy glow - this one is a new favorite because it's gluten-free, vegan & certified organic.  I recommend using once a week before bedtime.

BITE Beauty Agave Lip Mask
Formulated without sulfates, parabens or phthalates, this moisturizing treatment not only keeps my lips soft & hydrated, it also gives them a subtle shimmer that's perfect for daytime.
