Fall Forward

I'm excited to be partnering with JCPenney today to share three looks featuring pieces from their new fall arrivals. One of the things I love about their store is that they carry such a wide variety of brands, so I did my best to feature as many of them as possible and I've included sizing information below for those of you who are shopping online. They are currently running an amazing sale and every single piece I'm sharing here is under $50 + you can get an extra 20% off when you use code GRTDEALS.

I discovered these lightweight turtlenecks in 2013 and I'm so glad that they continue to bring them back year after year.  They are one of my cold-weather closet staples & I have them in every color - they're perfect for layering under sweaters, shells & coats when the temperatures drop (see example here).  I'm always a sucker for a faux leather skirt and the asymmetrical hem of this one is so pretty & unexpected.  Note: I did order a petite size (even though I'm 5'8") to get the best fit through the waist as it does runs a little big.

What I'm wearing:
c/o Worthington Turtleneck (wearing a S), c/o Worthington Faux-Leather Skirt (I'm wearing a 4P),
Similar pumps, Similar bag

I am loving the duster cardigan trend this year because it's a great way to add a light layer that's both flattering & modern.  Because it's a longer length that provides more coverage, you can wear it with black leggings or jeans.  The ribbed texture of this one caught my eye - though it also comes in gray & black, I couldn't resist this rich burgundy hue.  Note: I recommend sizing up for a looser fit or if you're looking for something with a more oversized feel, this gray boyfriend style is a good option.

What I'm wearing:
c/o Stylus Plaid Shirt (wearing a S), c/o Worthington Cardigan (recommend sizing up; I'm wearing a M),
c/o Arizona Skinny Jeans (wearing size 5), c/o a.n.a Isha Mules, c/o Call It Spring Bag

A comfortable sweater dress is a must for fall, especially when it has cool details like a faux-leather front.  This one would be easy to dress up with a statement necklace & suede pumps or to wear for daytime with a plaid scarf & classic trench.  I also picked up the top version of this style in burgundy (here).  When layering a button-down under a dress like this, I've found what works best is to tuck the shirt into my shapewear for a seamless look  (I personally swear by these).

What I'm wearing:
c/o Joe Fresh Sweater Dress (wearing an XS), c/o a.n.a Shirt
c/o a.n.a Ryder Ankle Boots, c/o Liz Claiborne Satchel

Thank you to JCPenney & ShopStyle for kindly sponsoring this post.
