As I mentioned last week, I believe it's so important to shift your beauty routine when the seasons change. In the summer, it's all about protecting your skin from the sun...but in the fall & winter, due to the colder & drier weather, your skin & hair will require different types of products and more intensive care to maintain moisture. So today I'm sharing 3 ways that I'm beginning to transition my beauty regimen so I can get ahead of the curve before the chilly temperatures hit.
POND'S Dry Skin Cream
I've been applying this at night before bed and have been so impressed with how deeply it penetrates my pores & the way my skin seems to hold onto moisture better since I started using it (note: it also does double-duty as an effective hand cream). Thanks to the rich formula, a little goes a long way - I only use one small finger scoop for my whole face, which means the jar will last me for quite a while. When using before bed, I recommend giving it about 10 minutes to really sink in prior to going to sleep - I typically apply mine before taking my vitamins and brushing/flossing my teeth so it is fully absorbed when my head hits the pillow.
Gold Bond Ultimate Rough & Bumpy Skin Daily Therapy Cream
Keratosis Pilaris (also referred to as "chicken skin") is something that I have battled for years. Though mine isn't a very severe case & only presents on the back of my upper arms, it's visible enough to be a nuisance & is a condition that I find gets much worse in the colder weather. This cream is specifically designed to treat KP and though I was skeptical at first, I noticed a marked improvement after just 1 week of use. I apply it just once daily, usually in the morning after I shower or just before bed.
HAIRIt's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner Plus Keratin
My hair has been color-free for years but I recently decided it was looking a little dull so I asked my stylist to add in a few subtle balayage highlights. While I absolutely love how it looks, I have noticed since then that my strands are drier than they used to be and I find myself needing to use more conditioner than before. I tried several different products before coming across this keratin-infused leave-in spray, which is one of the best I've used. I spray it on after towel-drying & it leaves my hair soft, shiny & tangle-free. The price is a little steep, but because my hair is shorter, I can usually get the bottle to last me about 6 months.
