Autumn Adventure

I'm excited to be sharing something a little different with you today - in addition to showcasing two new Old Navy fall looks, I'm also highlighting some of our recent autumn adventures around upstate NY!  I hope this gives you a little glimpse into my everyday life and the beautiful area that I am blessed to call my home.  I'd love to hear if this type of content interests you & if you'd like to see more location-based posts in the future!

When I was growing up, we had friends who owned a nearby orchard & we would go every fall to fill our buckets and sample their homemade hot cider.  Although we pick berries quite frequently as a family in the summer, for some reason we'd never gone apple picking until this year.  The Apple Farm was recommended to us by several of our neighbors, so we took advantage of a sunny day & drove over to the orchards.  We sampled different varieties we'd never heard of before - Macoun's, Paula Red's & Cortland's, but the Macoun's were our favorite.

This plaid poncho is an ideal layering piece for the season because it's unbelievably soft & it actually has arm holes sewn in so I didn't have to worry about it slipping off my shoulders while we picked apples.  These dark distressed jeans are one of my favorite pairs from last year (previously seen here & here), but thankfully they brought them back again this season!  The comfortable mid-rise fit means I'm not constantly pulling them up throughout the day + they have just the right amount of stretch.  Old Navy is currently running a huge online sale - today is the last day to get 25% off any amount, 30% off $75 or 35% off $100 when you use code MYSTYLE.

I'm convinced there is a no more beautiful place to be in the autumn than upstate NY.  We love taking day trips to experience new areas and explore the natural beauty that surrounds us.  Last week, the weather was perfect, so we decided to drive south & spend the afternoon at one of our favorite spots.  Letchworth State Park is over 17 miles long (often called the "Grand Canyon of the East") and covers 14.5 acres of land along the Genesee River - it's just a one-hour drive from our house and is the perfect way to escape into nature & enjoy the fall colors.

This cozy sweater & quilted vest kept me warm in the crisp fall air as we walked around, snapping pictures & taking in the views.  You may remember that I wore this plaid shirt in last month's post (here) - I thought it would be fun to show another way to style it layered up for the cooler weather, further proving its versatility.  I love the way the hem of this cable-knit sweater allows the shirt underneath to peek through, adding even more interest to the look.
