Bohemian Dreams

While I certainly have specific silhouettes that I favor most of the time, I would never say that my style is all one thing.  I can't define myself as strictly preppy or feminine or modern, because I like to dress in all of these ways. Maybe that makes me a bit eclectic (or indecisive?).  It's the same reason why I wouldn't have made it as a recording artist - because I love to sing so many different types of music (R&B, soul, country, gospel)...I never could have settled on just one!  So I choose to look at it as having different "style moments" - if I feel like going for a modern edgy look, then I embrace that.  If I want to wear something feminine & flirty, I go for it.  What I wear each day is largely based on my mood & I personally don't think we should be painted into a corner when it comes to our personal style.

This dress is a slight departure from the more sophisticated styles I typically wear, but with the new season comes a relaxed vibe that I am gladly welcoming.  If you're looking for an easy dress for an upcoming vacation, the beach or festival season, this off-the-shoulder maxi is it.  You could dress this up more with strappy heels & a structured clutch or add a braided belt & straw hat for daytime.  I like that you can also wear it up over your shoulders too.  The lightweight woven fabric & double slits make it an ideal choice for even the warmest summer days because it breathes nicely + the small floral print gives it a decidedly bohemian feel.

What I'm wearing:
American Eagle Dress (wearing an XS), Mango Sandals (similar here or here),
Bracelets: J. Crew (similar), Forever 21 & c/o Old Navy (similar),
Madewell Necklace (30% off w/ code SOCLOSE), Pilgrim Earrings
Lips: Trish McEvoy (Nude), Nails: Essie Chubby Cheeks
