Buried Treasure

There's something so rewarding about rediscovering an old item of clothing with the same excitement you felt when you first bought it.  This printed wrap blanket skirt was one of my favorite purchases from last fall, so I was thrilled when I saw it sitting in the top of my autumn storage bin.  While I talk a lot about the importance of versatile wardrobe staples, I also think it's nice to have a few stand-out pieces in your closet that feel really unique.  Look for special details like embroidery, sequins, quilting or unexpected silhouettes - just make sure that they aren't too trend-heavy in design so you can continue to wear them year after year.

Side note: if you're looking for a shorter-length jacket that will go with anything, this wool moto (which also comes in gray) is perfect for pairing with skirts, pants & jeans.  Today only, Ann Taylor is offering 50% off your purchase + free shipping on all orders (no minimum) using code SHIP50.  My other top picks include this ruffle-sleeve sweater, these leopard pumpsthis navy wool coat & these faux-leather leggings.

What I'm wearing:
Ann Taylor Jacket (also in petite & tall), Zara Sweater (similar here or here),
LOFT Skirt (similar styles below), LOFT Boots (similar here or here),
c/o Charming Charlie Clutch (similar), House of Harlow Earrings, c/o InPink Ring
