Laid-Back Luxe

I've received quite a few emails lately asking for outfit ideas other than dresses to wear to upcoming holiday parties & events.  If you're attending to a more laid-back affair, I love the idea of pairing a feminine sweater with pants, festive pumps & statement jewelry.  The key is to look for pieces with stand-out details (think ruffles, luxe textures like lace, velvet or faux fur & rich jewel tones).

This bell-sleeve sweater is so feminine & flattering - it comes in 3 different colors & is currently 40% off with code FRIENDS40 (also love this peplum sweater, this cable-knit pullover & this wrap coat).  I thought it paired perfectly with these comfy velvet joggers, which are great for wearing with flats or dressed up for evening - there's nothing better than looking chic but feeling like you're wearing pajamas! Here are some ways I'd rework these pieces:

* Keep the sweater & necklace, but swap out the joggers for skinny jeans, the pumps for ankle boots and the coat for a black moto jacket
* Swap out the joggers for an a-line skirt, the coat for a faux fur vest & the pumps for heeled booties
* Swap out the joggers for cropped trousers & the pumps for pointed loafers - skip the necklace & instead opt for a patterned neck scarf
