Ruffled Tweed

We've been pretty fortunate to have a somewhat mild winter thus far (by NY standards) & I've been relishing the fact that I haven't needed to wear my heavy wool coats or down puffer jackets just yet.  This classic tweed jacket is a timeless style that every woman should have in her closet - I love how it's sophisticated, but a little edgy at the same time.  I thought I was dressing appropriately for our current temperatures with these feminine layers...but, as soon as we began taking pictures, the snow started to fall.

This J. Crew sweater is one that I found in pristine condition at the thrift shop over 3 years ago & I was so happy to see that they brought this style back again (here) because it's one of my favorites.  It has a shorter length than many of my other sweaters, which makes it ideal for wearing shirts underneath, like a pretty ruffled camisole.  Mixing it with this darker tweed & gray denim helps balance out the sweetness of the pastel hue (I've also paired it with burgundy for an unexpected color contrast).
