Dear Valentine

Now that it's officially February, it's time to start making plans for the upcoming holiday. We have an established family tradition (carried down from my family) where I make heart-shaped meatloaf with pink mashed potatoes (using this vegetable dye), followed by cake & ice cream.  Then, after dinner, my husband & I send the kids on a scavenger hunt throughout the house to find their Valentine's Day treats.  It's become such a fun way to celebrate together as a family & is something we always look forward to each year - proof that even if you don't have the money to spend on an expensive evening out, you can still make it special!

We typically don't buy each other gifts for Christmas, but Valentine's Day is a different story!  My husband always prefers when I provide him with a "wish list" of items that he can select from - that way he knows that whatever he purchases for me won't end up getting returned & will be put to good use.  So, today I'm rounding up my top affordable Valentine's Day picks - all of these would make great gifts, but they're also excellent buys if you feel like treating yourself!

10) Leather Tote (comes in 7 colors) // 11) Dipped Initial Journal // 12) Champagne Macaron Gift Box
