Mexico Moments

I'm finally sharing a recap of our Mexico trip with you today - this post is a bit lengthy, but I wanted to highlight a few of our favorite activities & some of the outfits I wore while we were there.  As most of you already know, two days into our vacation, I came down with the flu (which my husband & son later caught).  So, I wasn't able to do as much as I had hoped while we were there.  But, we did our best to make the most of the time when I was feeling well and I was able to rally towards the end of the trip & rejoin everyone again.  We stayed at Hacienda Encantada, which is where my in-laws own a timeshare. We absolutely loved the resort & found it to be very family-friendly (if you don't have kids, they also have an adult-only pool & restaurant area right above the beach).

When we found out it was whale-watching season, we quickly booked an early morning boat ride to see if we could spot some in the water.  Our guide was incredible & we were lucky enough to discover sea lions, dolphins & an entire family of humpback whales.  Seeing the joy on my kids' faces as they watched the whales swimming alongside our boat is something I will never forget.  Whales are such beautiful & majestic creatures and we learned so much about them during our tour.

The next day we spent some time exploring the town of Cabo San Lucas, walking through the shops & watching the sea life down by the marina.  I loved exposing my kids to a different culture and watching them put the Spanish they've learned in school to good use!  My son, in particular, fell in love with Mexico and it seemed that he made a new friend everywhere we went.  That night, we had an amazing dinner at Los Deseos and then we walked down to grab a scoop of gelato for dessert at SeƱor Sweets.

The third day was probably my favorite - although I was really sick, I was doing my best to stay strong because I didn't want to miss out on what we had planned.  We rented a car and drove to the nearby town of Todos Santos, which was absolutely beautiful.  We walked around through the shops, had lunch at Hotel California (remember the Eagles song?) and played in the surf on Cerritos Beach.

Day 3 Outfit: LOFT Romper (more options here & here), J. Crew Sandals (similar here or here),

Just before dinner, we drove to Tortugueros Las Playitas, which is a sea turtle conservation.  We met the woman who launched the organization & learned all about the Olive Ridley turtles that they rescue from the beach.  Just after sunset, we watched them dig up three different nests (totaling 68 baby turtles) and we got to carry a bucket of them down to the shore to release into the ocean.  On our way back into Cabo, we stopped for dinner at La Golondrina, which was one of the best meals of our entire trip - we loved the ambiance of their outdoor patio area.

On our last full day, we booked a dinner cruise on the Buckaneer Queen pirate ship.  This was more for the kids than anything else & they absolutely loved it.  The actors put on such an amazing show and there was great food, music & dancing.  My son kept walking around with a fake sword in his hand, pretending to be Zorro, and my teenage daughter was thrilled that she got to "dance with a pirate".  It felt like the perfect way to end our vacation as a family.  As we watched the sun go down one last time, I was overwhelmed with gratefulness for all the incredible experiences we were able to share together.

Last Day Outfit: Cupio Striped Dress (more colors here & here),
