30 Best Shoes to Wear with Straight Jeans

Straight leg jeans are in and probably will be for a while. I am a skinny jean lover, so it took me a while to accept the straight leg jean into my closet. I will continue to wear skinny jeans because they are flattering, super versatile, and pair well with so many shoe styles. Straight leg jeans, though, are trickier when it comes to shoes pairing. Today I am breaking down the best shoes to wear with straight leg jeans.

The jeans I am wearing in this post are this pair from Everlane. Cannot recommend them enough. I am 5’5” and wearing size 26 regular. I usually wear a size 4 in jeans. For these I sized down as they stretch out during wear. They come in ankle length as well.

Style Straight Leg Jeans with Sneakers

Sneakers are great shoes to wear with straight leg jeans. I prefer the non-athletic, low profile, plain white sneaker. Consider rolling the pant leg to show a little ankle and elongate the leg.   Sneakers, like these, can be worn throughout the year with everything from jeans to dresses. Don’t forget to wear no-show socks!

Style Straight Leg Jeans with Flats

Flats are a very flattering and comfortable option to wear with straight leg jeans. What I like most is that any toe shape will look good with straight leg jeans, so odds are you already own a pair to pair with these jeans. Most of my clothing is neutral tones, so I like to add a pop of print or color using flats.

Style Straight Leg Jeans with Heels

Heels are a great choice if you need to dress up your straight leg jeans outfit! There is something so pretty about a classic outfit (t-shirt and jeans or sweater and jeans) dressed up with a great pair of shoes. Most toe shapes will work with straight leg jeans. STYLE TIP: Much like skinny jeans, wearing a pointed toe heel will make your leg look longer.

Style Straight Leg Jeans with Boots

Can I wear boots with straight leg jeans? This is the most asked question when it comes to styling straight leg jeans. The answer is yes! While this topic could be covered in an entire blog post, my favorite boot with straight leg jeans is a high ankle boot with a skinny shaft. I think it is important for the shaft to be higher and close to the calf in order to avoid bunching at the bottom of the pant leg.

Style Straight Leg Jeans with Mules

Pointed toe mules are great shoes to wear with straight leg jeans, especially during seasonal transitions. These work great with full length or ankle length jeans. If wearing with full length, a pointed toe mule will give the illusion of an elongated leg. Try these mule socks to avoid slipping out.

Style Straight Leg Jeans with Loafers

Loafers are timeless, so that means you can definitely wear them with your straight leg jeans! They work so well with this jean because of the low-profile ankle. These shoes can easily be worn to the office with your favorite business casual jean outfit. The loafer instantly elevates and otherwise casual look.

Style Straight Leg Jeans with Sandals

For warmer weather, sandals can easily be worn with straight leg jeans. I would recommend sticking to slides with one or two straps that don’t go too high on the foot. If your jeans are full-length, consider rolling the bottom hem to show ankle and elongate the leg.
