4 Ways to Wear ~ Midi Skirt

As promised, for this month’s edition I’ll be showing you 4 options for styling a midi skirt.  I personally love this length & shape of skirt because it has a ladylike vintage feel (which we all know I gravitate towards).  I chose looks that would be perfect for spring & summer, but if the weather is still a bit chilly where you live, you could easily layer a jean jacket, cropped sweater or cardigan on top for some added warmth.  See more photos from this shoot on my Facebook page & be sure to leave a comment below letting me know which one is your favorite!

What I’m wearing:
DKNY blouse (via TJ Maxx), Old Navy skirt (here), Forever 21 belt (similar) & necklace, Target cuff (similar), ASOS clutch, BCBG pumps
What I’m wearing:
LOFT blouse (on sale here), Old Navy skirt (here), Target cuff (similar) & sunnies, The Limited clutch, Mossimo sandals (here)

What I’m wearing:

Old Navy blouse & skirt (here), BCBG sandals, H&M belt (similar), Mudd glasses (on sale here), Jason Wu for Target bag, Target earrings, Bracelets: Vintage & c/o Poshlocket (here)

What I’m wearing:
Forever 21 top (similar), Old Navy skirt (here), Target belt, MRKT wedges, Urban Expressions clutch (here), Accessorize necklace, Bracelets: Vintage & Forever 21 (here), Dockers aviators

Fab styling! You look great in every outfit. Unfortunately, I'm staying away from the midi skirt because I'm 5'2" and that length just doesn't work for me. I do wanna try maxi styles though!

love this! what are your thoughts on midi skirts for shorter gals like me? I wear one but wondering sometimes if it's the most flattering length. I often think it's better when I go shorter or longer. Either way, LOVE this especially with the button down and the stripes.

  37. PennyPincherFashion says

    May 9, 2012 at 9:45 pm

Thanks Alyson! I think it is definitely trickier to pull off a midi-length skirt for those who are shorter or petites…but not impossible. You'd have to try it on to be sure it doesn't overwhelm your frame. 🙂

All four look great. And that skirt is lovely. Unfortunately, I'm a shorter gal, so skirts that hit me below the knee and above the ankle tend to make me look like i'm 12.
