I’m so excited to be able to share with you today part 2 of my shoot for Almay & Lucky Magazine (the above shot is from the ad in the October issue on newsstands now…go grab your copy)! After we finished taking the photos & video for my Simple Sunday look, we dashed back into the studio to get ready for the next edition of Her Style, Her Story – Date Night. Since it was still late afternoon & sunny outside, the crew staged an in-house set that looked like a quaint restaurant…complete with fresh flowers, a bread basket & cappuccino! Check out the full video here.
I got to play dress-up with dozens of pieces they’d brought in (read: kid in a candy store), but ultimately settled on this silk Tucker dress (love the print). And how fabulous are these Lizzie Fortunato earrings? Just the right mix of edgy + glam – I really wanted to take them home with me! We decided a messy updo would be the perfect pairing for the smoky eye that Stephanie helped create. I honestly never thought I could pull off blue eye shadow, but this trio seriously changed my mind. For those of you who have always wanted to try a smoky eye but are afraid to, the Almay Intense i-color Smoky-i Kit is ideal because it has a foolproof guide you can follow so you know exactly where to apply each color.
I’m honored to be hosting another Facebook chat with Almay + Lucky Magazine on Tuesday, September 17th from 2-3pm. If you missed out on the first one, this is your chance to join us (see last month’s chat here). I’ll be sharing my best tips & tricks for a quick and easy evening makeup routine, including how to get the perfect smoky eye for Date Night. Be sure to come join us on the Lucky Magazine Facebook Page.
Lastly, I just have to add…I cannot say enough wonderful things about the amazing time I had & how blessed I feel to have been a part of this campaign. I learned so much, made new friends & discovered some amazing beauty products that are now daily favorites. A huge thank you to all the incredible & talented ladies at Lucky Magazine + the gracious and beautiful Jackie from Almay. It was an experience I will never forget & one I’ll always be grateful for!
