Fashion

Cerulean State

Since I had an overwhelming response from readers after this post requesting more layered looks for the office, I have decided to try & incorporate some work-appropriate outfits here on a regular basis.  This is one of my new favorite ways to get more wear out of my sleeveless peplum tops during the colder months – just treat it like a vest & pair with a button-down blouse or turtleneck underneath (looks great with cropped trousers or skinny jeans too)!

What I’m wearing:

Madewell blouse (similar), Tinley Road top (on sale here), Ann Taylor skirt (on sale here & in petite here), H&M coat (similar here or here), Merona tights (here), ALDO booties (similar here or here), Rafē New York clutch (via eBay; similar), c/o Outrage Fashion necklace (here), Michael Kors watch (similar), Bracelets: c/o Poshlocket (here) & H&M (similar), Target sunnies (similar)

LOVE that peplum, in fact, thanks for pointing out that it is on sale! Something about a leather peplum makes it just a smidgen rock n' roll, rather than all girly. And it looks great over the button down too!

I love the pop of leather, its office appropriate without looking plain. I struggle with that often. Are you in a conservative field? I find dressing for me and dressing for work, two totally separate affairs.

    Great inspiration.
