Gingham is one of those patterns that keeps popping up everywhere this season – though I have a hard time referring to it as a “spring trend” when it’s a timeless print that’s been popular for decades. Whether your style is classic, feminine or modern, there are plenty of options to choose from. I couldn’t resist this checked sleeveless top – the shape is so forgiving & the tiered hem gives it such nice movement. There’s a cute off-the-shoulder version by the same brand – love the sleeves! I’ve also worn this top with a lightweight cardigan & red flats (can’t resist the red, black & white combination!).
I personally love the look of a traditional cargo/utility jacket, but the olive green styles I own don’t always go with everything in my closet. This crisp white jacket is a great alternative – the Tencel/linen blend is the perfect weight for spring & summer and you can adjust the drawstring waist for a more fitted look. Other white jackets to try: this draped style, this anorak, this cropped trench or this linen blazer.
