If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me tweet last week about my husband losing his job as part of a large layoff at the company where he worked. Though there are challenging & uncertain days ahead, we are choosing to focus on the positive ~ like the fact that him being home now allows us middle-of-the-day dates while the kids are in school. We took full advantage of it earlier this week & took a leisurely stroll through a tree-lined street in one of our favorite neighborhoods…then warmed up with coffee & treats at a little outdoor cafe.
What I’m wearing:
so sorry to hear about your husbands job loss – everything happens for a reason and i'm sure he will find another GREAT job soon. you look gorgeous – i love that shirt! <3

Im a firm believer that unexpected change typically results in the best of luck. In the meantime, love that you get some QT with the hubby!
What a great attitude – here's hoping (and some prayin') that hubby gets offered something bigger & better very quickly.
Love the bag too – what a great find.
Great fall outfit, very edgy but pretty. You look beautiful

I love your decision to stay positive. My husband was laid off at the beginning of 2011 and it ended up being a wonderful thing for us. It was a chance for him to reinvent himself and grow as an employee. It took 4 months for him to find his next job but now he is settled and rocking it out. Going through the whole process also brought us closer together. I made sure to always be his cheerleader, and to make sure he still "felt like a man." I hope your husband finds something new soon!! Your blog is one of my favorites!
I'm sorry about your hubby's lay off, hopefully he can find something new soon. Love those maroon pants and that necklace!!

I can't believe I missed that tweet! I'm so sorry you have to go through this, but I'm so glad you're trying to stay positive through all of it! I feel like the job market in the area is promising (the first time I can truthfully say that in years), so I hope your husband will find something soon.
Let me know if you need *anything* – tips on any openings in the area, or a shopping date to get your mind off of things!
Also, I love that top, and those pants look great on you. Loving that color for fall! π

Can you be any cuter? Love the chic color combo! Burgundy is by far my favorite color for fall! Have a great weekend Kim! xo
Kimberly, I did not know this. Praying for and thinking about you and your family. I know the uncertainty must be so difficult. I am inspired by your positivism. You look gorgeous, here, as well, as ever. The top is amazing!
What a great attitude–here's to hoping things will turn around for him soon. This top is completely gorgeous as well. You often see a top with leather sleeves, but not usually a leather top with sheer sleeves. The look is so pretty!

sorry to hear about your husband's layoff… times are tough nowadays (I work in fuel assistance, so see this firsthand). Wishing your family the best-and hoping he finds a new job pronto!
Love the idea though that you are using his time off as a positive-it helps alot. Pretty outfit by the way!
I am so sorry to hear about your husband losing his job. We went through the same thing a few months ago when we were only married for two months! My husband left to go through airline training the day after we returned from our honeymoon and was gone for two stressful months and then out of nowhere, cut! It's an awful feeling but things really do get so much better. Our life has made a complete 180 in the last three months and yours will too! You look gorgeous, way to keep your head up!!! xoxo
I wish you and your family the best in these tough times. Love your positive attitude (and the outfits of course!).
Love soo much your vintage Ferragamo…Lucky you!!
That necklace is GORGEOUS!
