Right before I started high school, my parents sold the house I’d grown up in & bought a larger home in the country so my grandma could move in with us. I was so blessed to have that time living in close proximity with her – we would watch game shows in her sitting room, play cards on a Saturday afternoon & make dinners together during the week when my mom was working late. She was one of the most positive people I’ve ever known & I’m so grateful for those four years & the special memories we made.
In addition to a rare blood type, one of the things that I inherited from her was her love for jewelry. She had a huge standing armoire in her bedroom that was full of brooches, earrings, necklaces & bracelets that she had acquired over the years. One of my favorite things was when she would take them out to show to me – even though I’d heard her tell the stories a thousand times, I loved to watch her hold up each one like it was a buried treasure & share the details of how she found it. At my bridal shower, she gifted me with one of my favorite sets that she’d owned for years, which I still have & wear to this day.
With my daughter getting older, I’m starting to think about the things I want to hand down to her and I love the idea of passing on jewelry pieces that are elegant & timeless…but aren’t so expensive that she’ll be worried about losing them. Truth be told, I only own 3 pieces of fine jewelry, but I enjoy finding styles that look & feel like the real thing. I was recently introduced to this jewelry line by Eliot Danori that’s exclusively sold at Macy’s and I couldn’t believe how high-end all of the pieces looked. Even my mom, who has a very discerning eye, thought this necklace was diamond!
I fell in love with the shape of these earrings, which are a modern take on pavé hoops, and I also picked up these & these as Christmas gift for some of my girlfriends. Almost every piece in this collection comes in silver, yellow gold or rose gold so you can find the color that best suits your skin tone. I personally like to mix & match metals, so I combined the silver & rose gold pieces together here (and threw in a dash of pearls for good measure!).
In my mind, fine jewelry is typically reserved for “special occasions”, so I love that these pieces look just as expensive…but because they’re more affordable, you can wear them every day and feel like a million bucks! And, if you’re like me, and have someone to pass them on to, they are classic styles that any woman would be happy to own.

Where do you live? You can wear a coat but no socks I want to move there!
Haha my ankles were a little cold! I live in upstate NY
I love that story about your grandma. The only fine jewelry I own is a pair of earrings that were passed on from my great-grandma to my grandma and then to me (my grandma had 2 sons). It’s so special to wear them, but I do worry about something happening to them. It’s nice to find jewelry that looks more expensive than it is! Also, that coat is amazing!
Those types of hand-me-downs are so special!
These pieces are absolutely stunning!! Love the earrings so much!
You are such a classic beauty and those pieces compliment you perfectly!! So timeless!
Love these classic jewelry pieces- that necklace is gorgeous!
Not only are those memories of your grandmother so special, but in your passing jewelry down to your daughter, you’re also passing those memories along and that’s the most special part of it all. The jewels tell a story, and these jewels are especially stunning. Quality without the shocking price tag!
these jewelry pieces are absolutely gorgeous and love your coat!
