If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you may be shocked to see my new hair in these photos. Right before we left on our trip to Michigan, I chopped nearly 5 inches off & I’m loving it! My hairstyle has been the same for a while and I was really craving a change, so summer felt like the perfect time to go short. I’m still playing around with it & getting used to the new length – as you can see in the photos below, I’m vacillating between wearing it straight & embracing my natural waves. Either way, it takes me far less time to style than before, so I’m thankful for that!
Today I’m excited to share two new looks featuring pieces from Macy’s & to announce the launch of their huge 4th of July Event. This sale runs through 7/8 & you’ll get 20% off select items with code FOURTH + free shipping at $49! You may have noticed that I’ve been working with Macy’s a lot lately and it’s because I love how many different brands they offer and that they have regular sales so you don’t have to pay full price!
Several of you have mentioned that it’s most helpful when I share complete outfits versus individual pieces, so in addition to the looks I’m wearing below, I thought I’d give you some more inspiration by sharing a few easy head-to-toe summer outfit ideas:
This printed top + these black shorts + this red bag + these embellished sandals
This knit dress + these espadrille sneakers + this blush tote
This wrap top + these white jeans + this crossbody bag + these tan wedges
This knit top + this maxi skirt + these metallic sandals
This striped dress + these beaded earrings (in white) + these blush heels
My husband loved this outfit and said it was the perfect casual date night look. I have to agree, though I’d also wear this to a BBQ or to grab lunch with friends. This peplum top is such a fun summer piece – I like that the straps are adjustable & that the back is smocked, which ensures a perfect fit. And you all know how much I love Lucky Brand Jeans (they fit me like a glove), so I was thrilled to find this cropped pair – I like that the distressing is minimal & the raw slit hem gives them a relaxed feel.

I’m always on the hunt for dresses that are flattering without being too clingy. I was so impressed with this printed dress because the fabric doesn’t wrinkle (I had it crumpled in a ball for a full day to test it out!). This would be ideal to take with you when traveling – no steaming required! Thanks to the fitted smocking at the top, it actually stays off the shoulder too! This also comes in a pretty black/white print that would be great with a bright red handbag. If you’re currently expecting, I think this would work really well as a non-maternity dress option that you can wear both before & after (plenty of room for a bump!).
