We had a sudden warm up in our temperatures last weekend, which almost completely melted all of the snow we’d gotten a few weeks ago. So, I took full advantage & got some outfit photos without coats! Today I’m excited to be partnering again with Nordstrom to share two new looks with you for both weekend & evening. As most of you know, I love shopping their site because shipping & returns are always free – this is a game-changer for me since we don’t have a store nearby us. Though they carry plenty of high-end styles & designer brands, I’ve scoured their site to bring you the most affordable styles for the season!
It’s funny how just a few years ago, I only owned one cardigan and now I have acquired quite the collection. And, for good reason – they are the easiest way to layer for warmth this time of year and Nordstrom has so many affordable options in every color, length & silhouette. I love the cable knit detail and slouchy sleeves on this one – it also looks great with a leather belt at the waist! Other styles I’m loving now: this shawl collar cardigan, this button-up style (love the green!), & this cozy boyfriend cardigan. Sizing notes: I recommend going down one size in the jeans & cardigan & sizing up in the t-shirt.
Because I get so many questions this time of year about how to layer without adding bulk, I decided to share some additional outfit ideas with you in the collage below. Just add your favorite jeans, leggings or skirts to these pairings & you’ve got an easy weekend look that will take you from coffee to errands to lunch!

MY NORDSTROM PICKS
As I’ve mentioned before, when it comes to evening wear, I often prefer buying separates that I can re-style in different ways. This cashmere-blend wrap sweater is so flattering & would also be great layered over a lace-trim camisole & paired with high-waisted jeans + heels for a casual date night. And this satin midi skirt is a timeless wardrobe staple that I can wear a million different ways – wear it with a sequin top for New Years’ Eve, pair it with this red lace top for Valentine’s Day or dress it down with a gray fitted sweater, moto jacket & booties. Sizing notes: both pieces run true to size – I’m wearing the US6 in the sweater (fits like a 2/4) and a small in the skirt.
If you have a Nordstrom store nearby, don’t forget that they offer free alterations – so, even if something doesn’t fit perfectly right off the rack, you can still get it tailored in time for your holiday events. After paying for several alterations over the years, I can testify that this is a HUGE cost-savings!
