Today is our second collaboration post for Dress Code (in case you missed it, check out the first one here) and this time we are putting together looks for 4th of July. Most people are heading to a party, BBQ or a casual get-together with friends. I think the most important thing to remember when going to a more laid-back function like this is that you want to be comfortable – whatever that means for you. I’m definitely my most comfortable in a skirt or dress, but if you’re more of a jeans/shorts gal, then go with that.
Since it is usually pretty hot here in July, I chose a lightweight jersey tank dress & kept accessories to a minimum…because you don’t want to overdo it and look like you’re trying too hard. If you’re planning on staying late into the evening for fireworks, just bring along a cardigan, denim jacket or cropped sweater to layer on top of the dress, so you don’t get too cold once the sun goes down.
i came THIS close to buying that dress on my last target trip! it's one of my fave color combos! i am totally more comfortable in a dress any day too. =)

I love that dress…and it looks so comfortable. I'm glad that you didn't do the whole red white and blue look, this looks fresh with the pop of green. I love the look.

Great dress! I love that it isn't a typical stripes and stars type of dress for the 4th. You look beautiful as always.

As usual Kimberly, you look gorgeous. Love the background too.
Love your dress and love this series! I wish we needed cardigans at night here. It is hot and miserable here in the swamp. (I'm in LA.) Of course that doesn't stop me from wearing jackets like I did in my post today!

Navy is a very good color on you! And I'm totally getting that nail polish this weekend! I need something to do while at the in-laws ๐
I love that you didn't do red, white, and blue. It is possible to dress for a 4th of July theme without looking like a hillbilly (like the other ladies here), but the best way to look unique on that day is to NOT wear the colors of the flag!
