This post is brought to you in partnership with Zappos.
All opinions are 100% honest & all items were hand-selected by me.
After asking what types of looks you wanted to see more of here, the overwhelming majority of you said that you struggle with transitional outfits. I know I’m not yet ready to say goodbye to summer, but September will be here before we know it! So, today I’m sharing two new looks with you (one for the weekend & one that’s evening-ready) and I’m talking about easy ways to incorporate light layers & rich fall colors without sweating your way through the end of the current season. The best part: nearly all of the pieces featured in this post are currently on sale + ship for free!
When the weather starts to cool down, I reach for open-weave knits and light layers. This hooded anorak is perfect for all your weekend activities – I love that it has an adjustable/cinchable waist, deep pockets & roll tab sleeves, which gives it ultimate versatility! This lightweight pullover is great because it’s breathable but you don’t need to wear a cami underneath. I wore this outfit for a family day trip to the beach & it was the perfect choice for a breezy, overcast day. I’ve been wanting a pair of quilted slip-on sneakers ever since I saw one of my friends wearing them – these are true to size & so comfortable (if you’re looking for a darker color for fall, they also come in olive, gray & black).
What I’m wearing:
c/o Levi’s Jacket, c/o BB Dakota Sweater, c/o Levi’s Jeans,
c/o Steve Madden Sneakers, c/o Fossil Watch, c/o Dogeared Earrings
When it comes to dresses, this is the time of year to start packing away your white eyelet & reaching instead for darker florals. This one-shoulder dress is made of the softest knit material (which makes it feel like you’re wearing pajamas!) & the elastic waist creates a instantly flattering silhouette. Another simple way to make a look more fall-focused is to swap out your accessories – replacing your straw clutch for one in a richer hue like burgundy & opting for suede heels instead of cork sandals give this an updated & transitional feel.
What I’m wearing:
c/o Lucky Brand Dress, c/o Splendid Sandals, c/o Patricia Nash Clutch,
c/o Kenneth Jay Lane Earrings, c/o Lucky Brand Bracelet
I love transitional dressing, it is my favourite, that’s when my closet looks the most “stylish” in my opinion. 😀
