Many of you have expressed an interest in trying out some of the popular spring trends but aren’t sure if they will work for you. I personally believe that fashion is meant to be fun (and part of that is trying new things), but I don’t think anyone should feel that they have to blindly follow trends in order to look stylish. I always think there’s a tasteful way to incorporate a few key pieces into your wardrobe to create chic everyday looks that aren’t over-the-top and that still feel like you!
So, today I’m talking about spring’s most wearable trends & highlighting the best affordable finds for the season from JCPenney. You all know what a big fan I am of shopping at their store – I love that I can find high-quality, stylish pieces…not just for me, but for the whole family! My daughter loves the Belle + Sky brand (these leggings are her favorite) and I’ve bought so many Arizona pieces for my son because their t-shirts and shorts fit him great & actually hold up through multiple washes (and he is really hard on clothes!).
I appreciate that they’re always having some kind of a sale and that I can use my JCP card to earn rewards dollars towards future purchases. I definitely gravitate towards the a.n.a brand most, but I’ve also discovered some great pieces by simply browsing through their new arrivals. This is one of the first places I look when I’m building my Steals Under $30 posts because everything is budget-friendly. Right now you can get an extra 20% off any purchase or an extra 25% off when you spend $100 or more with code SPRING9! Here are two looks that I put together featuring my favorite trends (everything on sale now!):
GINGHAM & RUFFLES
I’ve mentioned here before how popular gingham is for spring – it’s always been a classic print, but when mixed with other trends, it gives it more of a modern, updated feel. The fit of these pants is absolute perfection & they are so comfortable (I can never resist an elastic waist!). I typically don’t wear printed bottoms, but thanks to the small scale of this pattern, these don’t feel too loud. I paired them with this pretty one-shoulder top that almost looks and feels like silk because I thought the ruffled accents gave it a more feminine vibe. You could also layer a trench coat on top to make it a bit more sophisticated – this one is a steal! More gingham pieces to check out include this wrap dress, these mules & this tie-front top (bought & love – recommend sizing up).
What I’m wearing:
c/o a.n.a Ruffled Top, c/o Hollywould Gingham Pants (more options here & here),
c/o Worthington Heels, c/o Liz Claiborne Bag, c/o Bijoux Bar Earrings, c/o Liz Claiborne Necklace
FLORALS & SMOCKING
In all honesty, I was originally going to buy this top in the striped version & pair it with these white jeans and these metallic sandals, but I decided to step outside my comfort zone a bit & go for the floral print instead. I’m super-picky when it comes to florals but the colors & placement are so pretty on this one that I couldn’t resist. Thanks to the smocked neckline, you can also wear this off-the-shoulder and I’d layer this utility jacket on top for cooler evenings. If you’re on the hunt for comfortable wedges, I would highly recommend these espadrilles, which came home with me. And this lace dress would be a gorgeous option for Easter!
What I’m wearing:
c/o a.n.a Smocked Floral Top, c/o Arizona Jeans, c/o Liz Claiborne Peep-Toe Booties,
c/o Liz Claiborne Bag, c/o Bijoux Bar Earrings, c/o Decree Cuff
