KNOW YOUR LIFESTYLE

The items you’ll need depend on your typical daily routine and lifestyle. This guide is primarily for casual chic style. The casual capsule wardrobe in this post can be dressed up for a night out or dressed down for a day at home. The heeled boots for example, easily elevate any outfit but also pairs well with a basic t-shirt and jeans.

In terms of numbers for a casual capsule wardrobe, I include 11 tops and 4 layers that can be rotated easily. 

Several pairs of versatile bottoms go a long way and they’re something you never tire of. In total, this capsule has 7 bottoms.

Most casual capsule wardrobe collections have a few basic shoes. This capsule has five. Ankle boots sneakers are my favorite options for Fall, though you should incorporate what works best for your lifestyle.

KEYS TO A GREAT CAPSULE

From my experience, three characteristics are essential to a fantastic capsule wardrobe. They are color, quality, and cohesiveness.

Another important aspects of a capsule wardrobe is the color palette.

For this capsule, I use a neutral color palette with pops of camel and brown.

In terms of quality, when you focus on buying just one quality piece, it will reduce the rate at which it will need replaced. Therefore, you will be able to reincorporate a piece, year after year, into your capsule wardrobe.

Finally, capsule items should all mix and match well into several outfits. At minimum, each item included in a capsule should be incorporated into at least 6 outfits within the capsule.
