Fall weddings can be tricky because of cooler temperatures. I always check stores like Nordstrom Rack, T.J.Maxx & Macy’s because you can usually find something great at a discount. Stores like Target, Kohl’s, and Forever 21 are also great options for fall wedding guest outfits if you are attending a more casual wedding.
Some things to look for when shopping for a fall wedding guest dress:
- Color – Stick with the fall vibe; deep red, burnt orange, brown, cream (not white), and black.
- Texture – Pay attention to movement and feel of the dress; ruffles, layers, satin, fringe, and sleek sweater (for those extra chilly fall days)
- Length – Long or midi dresses are ideal for fall weddings, but short can be done too. If you’re going short, you can pair the dress with boots or a versatile coat, especially if it is a sleeveless dress.

Here is a link to my dress, it comes in black too! This cream dress has the prettiest dusty blue floral print!
Check out the image below for some shoe pairing inspiration. I always thing shoes can be difficult for fall weddings, too. I personally love the long dresses paired with boots for fall AND winter weddings! You can never go wrong with the ankle strap heels though.
