Like many others, I made a renewed commitment to hit the gym on a more regular basis in 2014. I’ve had some health issues lately that have left me zapped of energy, which has made a daily workout routine nearly impossible. However, like I’ve said before (here), it’s all about finding what works best for you. I love running & would typically log over 20 miles a week, but my joints just can’t take all that pounding the pavement like they used to. So, instead of giving up altogether, I’m making a few adjustments and working in some Yoga (stretching), Pilates (strengthening) & Zumba (cardio). I thought I would really miss running, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much I’m loving the variety of my new routine.
As life changes, your exercise needs might change too – the important thing is to stay flexible & be willing to try something new. And when you find a workout you enjoy, stick with it! They say that the hardest part is just getting dressed & showing up – personally, I am much more enthusiastic about exercising when I know that I have cute clothes to wear to the gym. These Old Navy pieces are not only incredibly comfortable (and flattering), but they are perfect for those of us on a budget who don’t want to spend a fortune on clothes we’re just going to sweat in!
