There’s just a little over a week left in this month and I can’t believe how quickly August flew by! After all the hot muggy weather we’ve been having lately, I, for one, am so ready to usher in September and the cooler temps that come with it. But, it’s going to be a while before I can pull out my sweaters & scarves, so I’m focusing on easy transitional pieces and lightweight layers to stylishly navigate the month ahead.
Today I’m sharing two pre-fall looks with you – one in softer, lighter shades and another in rich autumnal hues (my personal favorite). All of these pieces are from Lord & Taylor, where they just launched a huge fall sale – get up to 40% off new arrivals and an extra 20% off select regular-priced & sale items with code FALL. Read on for my top affordable picks + the best buys for the coming season!
If you live somewhere that won’t be getting true fall weather for a while, try a lightweight trench, pretty printed blouse & great-fitting denim. Unfortunately, this top sold out before I had a chance to share it here, but this blouse has a similar vibe in a darker floral print that would be perfect for fall! I also love the blush hue of this trench coat (and the tie detail on the sleeves) but it comes in a traditional light khaki too. More lightweight outerwear to try: this sleevless trench, this utility jacket or this striped blazer.
Lord & Taylor also has some great activewear on sale, like these moto leggings, this crop top & this mesh tank. And let’s not forget about footwear – this is a great time to grab some new fall shoes for less – I’m loving these neutral ankle boots, these velvet flats, these leopard pumps & these cognac peep-toe booties.
What I’m wearing:
c/o French Connection Trench Coat, c/o CeCe Floral Blouse,
c/o Calvin Klein Jeans, c/o Steve Madden Sandals, Similar Earrings
I’m a big believer in splurging on well-made outerwear – because when you stick to classic styles, they will last you for years to come and you’ll wear them over & over again. This cognac moto jacket is buttery soft & the color is even more gorgeous in person. I chose to pair it with this feminine floral skirt, but you can also dress it down by wearing with jeans & layering over this textured sweater with this plaid scarf. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly moto jacket, this black jacket is only $45!
