The lovely Meghan tagged me to do a post sharing 5 things you may not know about me. Normally, I like for PPF to remain fashion & beauty-focused and I try to keep my personal life out of the blog as much as possible. But, I also want this to be a space where I can connect with readers, so on occasion I will take the opportunity to get a little deeper. With that being said, here is my list of 5 random facts about me:
1) I have a photographic memory – this really came in handy when I needed to cram for a final in school or when I was memorizing lines for a play (although it really annoyed the other actors that I knew all their lines too and could remind them when they were wrong). I also have an uncanny ability to remember song lyrics, even if I’ve only heard them once or twice.
2) My brother, sister & I formed a singing group called “BirthRight” when I was in my early twenties. We performed at funerals, charity events, fundraisers, etc. I still look back at this and laugh hysterically, though we did harmonize pretty well together. But, seriously, what were we thinking?!
3) In 2009, I was diagnosed with Mรฉniรจre’s Disease, which is a hereditary inner ear disorder that affects balance & hearing (my mom also has it). It basically means that I will have to get hearing aids one day, I can’t ride on the carousel with my kids & my husband has to repeat himself several times before I actually get what he’s saying…though I like to blame it on his mumbling.
AW loved reading this about you Kim! Thanks for sharing! : )

It was nice to learn these things about you! I also don't drink milk…being Filipino, it's not really part of our cuisine, and I never developed a taste for it.
I like knowing a little more about you! The singing group and camping thing was totally unexpected!

Ahhh I like seeing a little bit about the girl behind the blog! I can appreciate and respect wanting to keep as much of your personal life out of your blog (I would say that's a smart idea for sure!), but you definitely start feeling like you know someone when you've followed their blog for a while, and it's nice to see little details about your life! ๐
Thanks for tagging me! I just did this post recently so I'm not sure I'll be able to come up with another five facts about me, ha! But thanks for thinking of me! ๐
Wow we're learning about Meniere's in med school. Here's to hoping that medical technology continues at its fast pace, and solutions will become more and more abundant.
P.S. I want your photographic memory. I only have it in bits and pieces.
Wow the fact that you have a photographic memory is amazing!
Such a cute post! Thanks for sharing it!
Thanks for sharing
I always enjoy getting to know bloggers a little better.
Did the camping thing when the sons were younger, my philosophy on that is that I did my time and I have moved on. LOL

Wow Kim I have read your blog for some time, but rarely comment. I have meneres disease too. I have hearing aids now, and have had the disease for 7 years. It's tough. Sounds like you are doing well, and wish you the best. Ann
Kim, I have read your blog for some time. I have meneres disease too. I was diagnosed at 40. I am 48 now. I do have hearing aids, and I hope you are doing well. I am fortunate that I do not have spinning and drop, attacks like a lot do. I just have the loss in both ears. It's tough, but I have an amazing husband and family that help me. Thanks for sharing. Ann
i love your blog and love this post. ๐ thanks for sharing some personal details!

Wow, I always feel like I am the only one that loves camping in a tent these days. I love going with my sons. No distractions from tech, no make up! Just us! People always make fun of me because of it. Glad to know someone else out there loves it, too! I'm lucky because the weather here in Texas allows for us to go most of the year with great weather.
Oh and I too have a photographic memory. ๐
Love this and thanks for the tag! You know I've maybe gone camping once in college?! I can't even recal to be honest. I've done bonfires and little things but not really overnight though sounds fun!
Enjoy getting to know more about you all the time. ๐
PS: Your monochome outfit is so good. I have that blouse too and can't wait to style it. Now need green pants!
Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself. It's always nice to know a little more about the people behind the looks that we love.

Aww, my mom had Meniere's disease. It took the doctors a long time to diagnose it, and it was very scary watching her suffer from these suddenly severe symptoms and not knowing why. Eventually she had to have surgery (the most extreme treatment), but now she is back to normal (aside from losing all of the hearing in one of her ears). I'm sorry you suffer from it as well and I hope your symptoms are mild!
I like learning more about the bloggers that I follow, so thanks for sharing!! I cannot believe you don't like ice cream….its SO good!

I love camping too! So glad to discover these things ๐
Love this! It's fun to get to know more of the personal side to you. Lets us all really know who you are. I completely either forgot or didn't know that your brother, sister and you were in a band. That's so funny and cool.I'm with you on the milk- I love cereal though so I try to do skim milk but it still grosses me out to drink it.
