Flat Footed

Thank you to Zappos for kindly sponsoring this post
All opinions are 100% honest & all items were hand-selected by me

My style has changed quite a bit over the past 6 years since my blog began – while I used to favor structured polished pieces (remember my blazer obsession?), I now prefer easy relaxed styles.  It was not uncommon for me to wear pointed pumps a few times a week back then and now I find myself reaching for comfortable flats more & more often. Even though I still think it’s fun to get dressed up, I’m discovering that casual looks are simply more practical for my everyday life.  Many of you have agreed with me & mentioned that you are unable to (or simply don’t want to) wear heels regularly.  So, today I’m sharing 3 new looks featuring the best flat sandals for summer + some of my favorite new arrivals from Zappos!

THONG SANDALS

I think everyone needs a striped dress for the season & I love the modern twist this one has with the tie detail in front.  I also appreciate that it’s a thicker ribbed material, which I found it to be more flattering than the t-shirt type knits I’ve tried.  I paired it with these knotted sandals for a cool nautical vibe.  I’m typically not a big fan of thong sandals, but the rope detail on these instantly elevates them beyond your basic flip flops & makes them appropriate for pairing with casual day dresses & skirts.

What I’m wearing:

c/o Lucky Brand Clutch

ANKLE-STRAP SANDALS

Classic ankle-strap sandals are a must and I prefer styles like these that zip up the back so you don’t have to fuss with buckles every time you put them on.  The rich cognac hue makes them versatile enough for your favorite shorts & denim and this printed top helps provide just enough interest to this casual weekend look.  Also, for those of you who’ve been asking about longer-length denim shorts, these are perfection!  I recommend going up a size if you want a slightly looser fit (you can also unroll the hem if you prefer that look).

What I’m wearing:

c/o Jack by BB Dakota Top (wearing an XS), c/o Levi’s Denim Shorts (wearing size 27),
c/o Vera Bradley Straw Clutch, c/o Blowfish Sandals, c/o The Sak Earrings

LACE-UP SANDALS

I’ve talked before about my love for gladiator sandals – what’s so great about this style is that they can be worn with dressier looks for an effortless & slightly boho feel.  The length of the ties on these are perfect and because they have tassels on the ends, they stay knotted even if you’re walking around all day.  I love the braided metallic design, which made them ideal for wearing with this feminine floral maxi skirt.

What I’m wearing:

c/o Volcom Tank Top (similar), c/o O’Neill Maxi Skirt (wearing a Small),
c/o Splendid Sandals, c/o Jessica Simpson Bag
