Fashion· Under $30

Flat Footed

With the exception of my slip-on oxfords (last seen here), I don’t wear alot of flats.  That is, until recently when I was diagnosed with tendonitis in my left foot.  This condition makes wearing heels still doable, but somewhat painful for long periods of time.  Since my podiatrist strongly encouraged me to lay off pumps as much as possible until it heals, I have been on the hunt for some classic flats.  The styles below are my top picks ~ easy to dress up or down, perfect for fall & all under $50!

1) Hailey Jeans Co Ballet Flats – $35.00
2) Pink & Pepper Ruffle Flats – $39.95
3) Zara Studded Heel Ballerina – $49.90
4) C-Label Hudson 10 – $49.00
5) ASOS LASSOO – $47.68
6) C-Label Hudson 11 – $29.00
7) Cosmopolitan Zima – $30.00
8) Simply Vera Vera Wang Flats – $47.99
9) Christian Siriano for Payless Juliana – $39.99

Personally, I love flats just as much as I love heels. I haven't counted, but my collection is probably even. Sure, heels are sexy and chic, but I have flat feet and bad knees (do I sound like I'm 85?) and there's nothing sexy or chic about waddling around and looking uncomfortable. I just don't last long in heels. So for a regular day, it's flats for me! There are just as many great flat styles out there – as you have proven today! I really love some of these! Thanks a lot for feeding my flats habit… ๐Ÿ˜‰

No. 4 is my favorite. How did you get tendonitis? I got it in my knee over 10 years ago. It was rough. After it heals, just make sure that you don't favor that foot too much. I have tried to stay off my left knee in the past 10 years. When I teach, I do everything on my right knee and don't really use my left. As a result I have NO strength in my left knee. As in I can't even stand up from a sitting position with using only my left leg. Hope it heals quickly!

Such cute looks! I'm obsessed with flats, though I could use heels to boost my 5'3" frame. They're just not practical for me during the work day, though I love the boost! It's flats all the way.

I'm just the opposite, I wear flats a lot more than heels! My feet are fairly flat, so heels get uncomfortable for me pretty quickly. Fortunately, there are a lot of really cute flats out there. Love this roundup!

I'm not really a flat person either – I always feel like they're more uncomfortable than heels! I've been rocking loafers which IMO are the cutest and are great for work and play (like #2). But I actually just came across these from Bucco Capensis and they are on my to-buy list: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=525329694150355&set=a.209686259048035.62644.205875139429147

I used to be so anti flats until I found a perfect pair with a substantially padded heel that I felt so comfortable in… I'm now a convert and I also realized that for fashion week in particular it was very helpful to carry them around with you for a change ๐Ÿ™‚ I love your metallic suggestion. Perfect for fall.

The C-Label Hudson flats are my favorite–I'm happy to see more brands doing some Valentino-esque flats and heels without straight-up copying. They're 20% off with code "SPLURGE" right now, too–making them all a better deal. Great picks, Kim!
