For the Birds

I’ve never been a huge fan of shorts – I find most of them way too short for my comfort and it’s nearly impossible to find a flattering cut for my body unless they are a loose, flowy shape.  So I was thrilled when I found this distressed boyfriend style in a slightly slouchy fit & just-right length.  They’re easy to throw on with casual basics for the weekend or dress up as I did here with a fun mix of prints and a new bright bag.  {Full disclosure: I ended up changing out of these heels later in the day & into my favorite neutral oxfords for some  afternoon errands.}

What I’m wearing:
Gap jacket (similar save or splurge), c/o SheInside top (here), Gap denim shorts (here), Forever 21 heels (here), c/o JustFab bag (here), Michael Kors watch (similar), Bracelets: Forever 21 (here, here, similar) & c/o ShopLately (here), Forever 21 ring (here), Ray-Ban wayfarers (similar), Lips: Revlon Moon Drops Hot Coral, Nails: Essie Lollipop

    LOVE that bird print. I used to HATE shorts on myself. But now that my legs are in a little bit better shape (thanks to stroller strides!), I have totally warmed up to them. Obvi, right? It's kind of all I wear now…ha ha!

    Ok a- how cute is that top?!?! Love it! Im also loving that bag, its similar to the Louis, but at a fraction of the cost! B) I am totally with you on the shorts! I dont really wear shorts, as I find that they not really flattering on me, but that pair you are wearing in this look is perfect! The length, color, and fit- seems like something most people can pull off.

    I accidently came across your blog and find it amazing. I like your styling as it is quite close to my tastes. Also, I love the fact that most of the items can be found at a reasonable price and are not the "designer" duds that most people can't afford.
    If you don't mind could you share the sizing of your clothes (eg how tall you are, and mostly what size do you wear in tops, bottoms and dresses), this really helps in seeing how the clothes (would) fit as some clothes might fit and look better on a size 4 or Small versus a large.
    Thanks and wish you success.

    Hi SP,

    So glad you found my site – welcome! I am 5'8" tall and I typically wear a 2/4 in tops & but thanks to my pear-shape, I usually need a 6 in trousers & straight-cut sheath dresses or pencil skirts (depending on the brand – J. Crew, LOFT & Ann Taylor tend to run large). I hope that helps! Please feel free to email me directly if you have further questions!! 🙂

    xo,
    Kimberly
