Gratefulness

I started my career very young…mainly due to the fact that I didn’t finish college.  I began working in a professional enviroment when I was just 19.  By the time I had finally found my niche, I was only 21 and climbing my way up the corporate ladder.  Though I was gaining the attention of management, there were many (okay, most) who weren’t as thrilled for my success.  Being so young, being a female & being promoted over others who had been there for years meant I was a target for snide remarks, vicious rumors and general dislike.

So, when I started this site, I assumed that the blogging world would be much the same as my previous work experiences – everyone out for themselves & a breeding ground for extreme cattiness.  But, I have been pleasantly surprised to discover it is the exact opposite.  There is an incredible network of bloggers out there who have embraced me (though I am the “new girl”), welcomed me into their club & even helped me promote my site.  You probably know who you are, but I’m going to give you a shout-out anyway:

The Stylish Housewife

My Dressy Ways

The Budget Babe

The Frugalista Diaries

If you aren’t familiar with their blogs, please go check them out – these are all beautiful, talented & smart women who do it right!  Meeting you ladies has truly been the greatest gift for me…you have been supportive, encouraging & just plain awesome!  If I had the money, I would fly us all to meet up someplace fun where we could go shopping, swap clothes & hang out like “real” people!

In our house, we work hard to instill in our children a spirit of gratefulness – for the things they have, for presents they receive & for the people around them who enrich their lives.  As their mother, I want to make sure that I am setting a good example for them in this area & practicing what I preach.  So, thanks to all of you (even those not mentioned here) who have embraced me with kindness & helped me along the way…it has not gone unnoticed & will not soon be forgotten.

I am so touched by this post! You articulated it perfectly. I have also found that bloggers have the biggest hearts – so willing to share and encourage. Your list is perfect. Jenn, Diana and Megan are great women and so supportive of newbies like us!

I'm so thankful that the blogging world has connected me with strong, smart and beautiful women who I would have otherwise never met. Thank YOU as well for all that you've done in support of my blog! Love you girl and keep up the good work!

I've found the blogging world to be everyone but catty. Competitive, yes, but that comes no matter where you are. I'm so glad you've been shown a warm welcome by everyone, and I want to extend that to you myself too! I know you are a regular reader of mine, and I'm so happy to have you as a consistent follower.

Isn't the feather top awesome? I wore it yesterday and lovee it!

Thanks for sharing these blogs – I will definitely check them out. Just found yours via IFB…..my experiences in blogging have been a bit of a mix. There have definitely been some super helpful bloggers, but at the same time, I think some there are others who shun the community in an attempt to gain their own success….. obviously, silly.

Isn't it amazing the community of bloggers out there? I actually put you at the top of my list about a week ago when I was posting about my favorite fashion bloggers.

I really love what you post about and after writing about you, a sister tried to dye her own garments too!

Yesterday I was reading that a lot of the people in the fashion industry believe that once vaccinations happen & things open back up, there will be a resurgence of dressing up for no reason & parties & celebrations (like the roaring twenties). And I, for one, am 100% HERE FOR IT 🙌🏻

This satin midi dress is such a stunning option for NYE & well beyond - would you believe it’s under $35 right now?! Comes in 4 colors and is fully stocked in all sizes 🙌🏻 (link in profile) #expresspartner #expresslife #expressyou #ssclooks #lookschallenge #contributingeditor

When I asked for your birthday wish list, the first item you wrote was “money to build care packages for the homeless” 😭 After all these years, I shouldn’t be surprised because that’s just who you are.

Our lives became sunnier, happier and more joy-filled the day you were born...and you’ve been spreading that light everywhere you go ever since.

Even though it’s hard for me to think that we only have another year and a half with you at home, I know you are going to do great things & truly leave your mark in this world.

And I’ll be the one in the front row cheering the loudest 💕
