Thank you to JCPenney & ShopStyle for kindly sponsoring this post.
All opinions are 100% honest & all items were hand-selected by me.
With the holiday season quickly approaching, everyone’s schedules are getting busier & busier – I always start feeling the pressure around this time of year to try to squeeze everything in…I just wish I had more hours in the day! If you’re like me with a lot on your plate, the last thing you want to have to worry about is what to wear. I know when I’m focused on buying gifts for others, I rarely think to look for myself. But, this is actually a great time to shop because there are so many amazing deals!
To help you with your holiday planning, I’m partnering with JCPenney to share 3 looks that are perfectly suited for different occasions you might have in the coming weeks. I did my best to highlight different silhouettes that will flatter many body types & to focus on classic pieces that you can wear well beyond the holiday season. In addition to what I’m wearing here, I’m sharing multiple options in various styles & price points in the scrolling bar below – everything on sale now!
FAMILY DINNER
When I’m planning what to wear to Thanksgiving or a special meal with friends, comfort is always my #1 priority. I’m highly motivated by food (ha!), so I try to think about what will look pulled together while still being a forgiving, relaxed ensemble that won’t feel restricting while I indulge.
This sweater dress looks nearly identical to the Madewell version from last year, but it’s a fraction of the price! I love the neutral flecked knit (which is not itchy at all) and the button-sleeves are such a fun detail. I’d say this is true to size, but if you prefer a more fitted look, you’ll want to size down. Thanks to the modest length, you could wear this to work or church – I think this would also be a great option for family photos! Other outfits to try for a dinner party: this tunic-length sweater with these leggings, this faux fur vest over this cable-knit sweater or this sweater blazer with this camisole.

HOLIDAY PARTY
When it comes to evening wear, I normally gravitate towards a classic LBD, but something about the pretty print of this dress really spoke to me. A fit-and-flare is almost always my silhouette of choice, so it’s no surprise that I loved this one…and, let’s be honest, any dress that has pockets is bound to be a winner! This ran a little big for me, but I was able to cinch the waist in more with the belt (you could also swap out the belt it comes with for a velvet sash or an embellished option).
And don’t forget the accessories! These bejeweled pumps will add instant polish to anything you pair them with, even basic black pants or your favorite denim. And this beaded mesh bag is such a fun accent + it’s a nice departure from your usual clutch – just wear it on your wrist so you’re hands-free all evening!
I love that JCPenney is always running some kind of promotion (which the budget-shopper in me greatly appreciates), especially when it comes to evening looks that I know I’ll only wear a handful of times. They have so many great party dresses for the season & the prices are unbelievable! This burgundy shift is ideal for an office party; this off-the-shoulder dress is such a festive color, this lace dress is an amazing buy and this sequin dress would be perfect for NYE. If you just need a fun top for a more casual get together, try this metallic dot blouse, this tie-neck top or this shimmery blouse – so chic with jeans & heels!

BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING
There’s nothing worse than wearing a heavy coat into the store, then inevitably getting too hot while shopping & having to carry it around all day, in addition to your bags of purchases. This coatigan is the perfect solution because it adds an extra layer of warmth without being too bulky – it’s a more substantial knit than a regular cardigan, but not as weighty as a wool-blend coat. This runs true to size, but if you like a more relaxed fit or want it looser in the arms for layering, I’d recommend sizing up.
I paired it with my favorite scoop-neck tee, which is only $8.50 right now! I own these in multiple colors (and so does my daughter) – they have the best drape to them, they’re just the right length for wearing with leggings & even the white is not see-through! These come in so many different colors & patterns and they’re a must-have basic for any wardrobe. Other cozy layers I’d pair with this tee: this fair isle cardigan (pair with these leggings), this striped coatigan, this fringe cardigan and this leopard print cardigan.
