Making Varsity

Part of me was really drawn to the trend of varsity-style jackets, but I wanted to find a version that looked slightly more sophisticated.  So I couldn’t pass up the opportunity when I found this one in my size on the clearance rack (+ an extra 30% off).  The bracelet length sleeves and modern colorblocking were exactly what I was looking for.  And since I wanted to let the pieces speak for themselves, I felt that minimal jewelry was best – these stacking rings from Stella & Dot, which I’ve been wearing nonstop lately, were the perfect dainty & subtle choice.  Check out their other affordable pieces (great Christmas gift ideas) all under $50 here.

What I’m wearing:
The Limited jacket (sold out online; check your local stores – similar save or splurge), Joseph A turtleneck (here), Worthington skirt (on sale here), Aldo booties (similar save or splurge), Zara bag (here), c/o Caravelle by Bulova watch (here), c/o Poshlocket bracelets (here), c/o Stella + Dot rings (here), Dockers aviators (similar), Lips: L’Oreal Colour Riche Fairest Nude, Nails: OPI German-icure

I like the varsity jacket trend, but I get mistake for an 18 year old enough as it is. And since I already OWN a letterman/varsity jacket (from my high school) I wouldn't want to buy one. I do like the sleeves on yours, and your arrow bracelets!

I have to say that I have not seen a sophisticated version of the Varsity. I love this! It is perfect I could see that jacket being quite useful even after the varsity trend. Don't you just love those extra sales off clearances? Forever 21 does an extra 50% off many weekends and I love scoring things for a few dollars.
