I know so many of us made resolutions at the beginning of the year and are focusing on clean eating & regular exercising. Both of which are great! But I’ve noticed a trend among some of my friends that is so disheartening to me. My friend, Grace, wrote an excellent post about this very topic & it’s such a good reminder for us all. As someone who battled an eating disorder for 10 years, I may be a little hyper-sensitive when I’m around others are fixated on their diet & losing weight…because I know how quickly that can escalate & become a unhealthy obsession. This article is another great read that talks about the dangers of “diet culture” – if you’re embarking on a health journey, I hope these articles will encourage you to be a little kinder to yourself along the way.
Pastels are a big trend for spring & it’s always a color palette that I’m eager to embrace. This flattering wrap top is the prettiest shade of soft lilac, gets great reviews & is currently on sale for just $14 when you use code CLEAROUT. I’m also loving this button-front skirt, this open-knit sweater & this striped shopper (a chic beach bag option!). And my favorite cashmere sweaters now come in pretty pastel colors + they’re on major sale – crewneck here & v-neck here. See more of my favorites at the bottom of this post!
I’m sure by now you’ve all seen or at least heard about the Marie Kondo special on Netflix. I’ll admit that I jumped on board & transformed a few of my dresser drawers using her folding method (highly recommend). In addition to cleaning out my closet & beauty cabinet, I also started looking for ways to better organize the things I chose to keep. I picked up a few more of these containers for our pantry (love the labels!). I purchased these shoe organizers (which helped create more space in my tiny closet). And I bought this makeup bag (which is exactly what I’ve been looking for to replace my old one) – I love that the dividers are adjustable & removable, plus there’s a place for all my brushes!
Who doesn’t love a good Amazon find? During the holidays, I spent lots of time on their site browsing for gifts and came across so many great pieces that I ended up purchasing for myself! My best buys: this necklace spacer (keeps layered chains from getting tangled), this bucket bag (perfect for spring & summer), these compression leggings (so slimming!) and this gold bangle (a near identical dupe for the Cartier love bracelet – I wear the 6.7, but be sure to measure your wrist to ensure a perfect fit).
I have a serious sweet tooth, so finding healthier dessert options without refined sugar that will satisfy my cravings is always a priority for me. These decadent truffles are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free & vegan and they literally taste like salted caramels! With Valentine’s Day coming up, these would make for a delicious & sweet ending to a romantic dinner at home. Other non-dessert recipes I’ve made & loved recently: this garlic naan bread (so flavorful & freezes well), these cauliflower bacon bicuits (I added shredded cheese to mine) & this chicken pot pie soup (Whole30-approved & perfect for warming up on a cold winter’s day).
As most of you know, I’m not shopping this month, but I’m still browsing all the new arrivals for spring and bookmarking my favorites to purchase later. Currently on my watch list: this textured cardigan, these chic loafers, this neutral trench coat, these pretty drop earrings, this printed skirt & these skinny pants (tried on in store & they are so flattering). Let me know if there’s anything specific you’re on the hunt for so I can include affordable options in upcoming posts!
