1) Treat Collection (shown: Base Coat, Goddess, Fast-Dry Top Coat)
No formaldehyde, toulene, DBP, camphor & formaldehyde resin
I realize these are a bit expensive for nail polish, but I can honestly say that it is worth it. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this photo right after I painted my nails and my manicure lasted a whole 7 days without any chips! I’ve partnered with them to offer a great deal exclusively for PPF readers – when you buy 2 polishes, you will get 1 free + free shipping when you use code PPFTREAT.
2) RMS Beauty (shown: Lip2Cheek Stain in Demure, Modest & Beloved)
Gluten-free, GMO-free, Soy-free, Nano-free & Cruelty-free
These are so richly pigmented that you can dab on a little for a sheer wash of color or build for a bold statement. I also love the versatility of this product & that I can use it on my lips or cheeks – great for on the go!
3) Josie Maran Cosmetics (shown: GOGO Argan Mascara)
No parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, GMO’s, synthetic dyes or triclosan
This mascara has a nice natural finish and keeps lashes soft without flaking. It doesn’t provide as much lengthening or buildable drama as my old stand-by (L’Oreal Voluminous), but it is a great everyday option.
4) 100% Pure (shown: Cherry Honey Facial Scrub)
100% natural, vegetarian & gluten-free
This has an addictively sweet smell, is incredibly hydrating (thanks to the honey) & I like that the round jojoba beads aren’t too abrasive for my sensitive skin. I use it twice a week to keep my skin soft & glowing.
5) LaVanila Laboratories (shown: Pure Vanilla Deodorant)
Paraben-free and contains no aluminum or mineral oils
I tried several “natural” deodorants that sounded good in theory, but didn’t quite deliver the coverage I personally needed. This one actually works, lasted through my workout and I love the light scent.
When I first received my diagnosis and began doing research about how to heal my body, I was a little overwhelmed. I felt like everything I read was telling me that I’d been doing it all wrong and I didn’t know where to begin to make changes. Even once I started a Paleo diet to help improve my symptoms, it seemed like every month I would learn something new that I had no idea about (like balancing omega fats or the importance of fermented foods). But, instead of getting discouraged, I’ve been treating it as a great journey that I am on – as with anything, it’s all about making small changes, one at a time, and focusing on what you can do.
Lately, I have been taking a hard look at the beauty products I use. And I’ve realized that even though I am eating healthy, I am still being exposed to chemicals by the things I apply to my skin every day. Though I’m not willing to go cold turkey and toss out all the products I have already paid for & am currently using, I am trying to switch over to all-natural versions when I run out of something. Unfortunately, quite often, the chemical-free formulations don’t always work as well as their mainstream counterparts. But through a bit of trial & error, I’ve found a few brands that do live up to my expectations…so I decided to share these new favorites here. If you’ve discovered organic, all-natural brands that you love & use daily, please share about them in the comments below!
