There’s only a week and a half left to take advantage of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – if you haven’t shopped their site yet, now is the time to score deals on incredible new arrivals for fall! Every year, when the sale rolls around, I try to focus on choosing wardrobe staples that I know I will get the most wear out of. As promised, I’m sharing some of my favorite pieces with you today – these are the 5 items I was the most impressed with and would recommend for transitioning into the new season. If you see something you love but your size isn’t available, be sure to bookmark it & keep checking back as several items are being restocked as returns are processed.
Gray Duster Cardigan (true to size)
Nothing beats a soft & cozy cardigan for fall and I think the longer length gives this one a slightly sophisticated feel. If you live somewhere that doesn’t get harsh winters, you can wear this in place of a coat because it’s a substantial weight & feels really warm. I’d also wear this with a silky camisole, cropped pants & loafers for a subtle menswear vibe. If you’re on the shorter side & worried about the length of this style, check out this ruffle cardigan, this wool-blend cardigan or this varsity knit cardigan.
Striped V-Neck Tee (true to size)
My philosophy is that you can never have too many striped tees in your wardrobe! I really like how lightweight this one is, which means I can wear it now & well into the fall with layers added on top. It has nice drape to it and is perfect for half-tucking into jeans. This also comes in another pink/white stripe + 6 solid colors…such a great basic & worth buying multiples of! Note: I also own a few of these rounded v-neck tees and they are just as great!
What I’m wearing:
c/o Treasure & Bond Duster Cardigan (also in blue & black), c/o BP Raw Edge Tee (comes in 8 colors),
c/o Articles of Society Jeans, c/o Steve Madden Sock Booties (also in tan & rust)
Wrap Sweater (true to size)
The color of this sweater instantly caught my eye (and you all know how much I love a good wrap top). My husband referred to this as a good “date night” sweater and I think it would also be cute paired with a suede mini or printed skirt. Though this is a lower-cut style, I didn’t find the need to pin it – it would be pretty with a lace-trim cami layered underneath if you want more coverage. Other fall knitwear I love: this side slit sweater (perfect length for wearing with leggings) & this convertible wrap sweater (great for travel!).
Dark Wash Skinny Jeans (size down)
Finding a great fitting pair of dark wash jeans without distressing can be difficult but these are perfection! I’ve never ordered this brand before & I love the way they fit – these have a good amount of stretch to them (almost like a jegging), so I recommend going down one size as they do give a bit with wear. More denim to try: here & here.
Sock Booties (true to size)
Black boots are a must-have for fall & winter and these are so incredibly comfortable and flattering. I love that they fit snug against your ankle, which makes them ideal for wearing with skinny jeans, dresses or skirts. These also come in a pretty cognac hue & a light tan. Other fall versatile footwear worth checking out include these studded booties, these over-the-knee boots & these perforated booties.
